Savage Reign is lots Fuun.... why didn't they make a third game?

I really enjoy Savage Reign on My CDZ (I'll get it on AES soon) because it's very different to all the other fighters - it's a Multi Battle action game.

Kizuna Encounter was not as good though, the tag system wasn't as easy like in the Capcom games.

But why wasn't a third game released? Savage Encounter? Kizuna Reign? It would have been great on a huge 700Mb+ cart.... wink

Savage Reign is great fun , only thing that ruins it are Cathy (the most annoying background and music EVER. EVER EVER!) and Nicola (cack design).

Love the multiple stages especially Chung's, as you can fight on the poles, ground and roof! you can also trash the market stalls

In fact most of the backgrounds are great, from Eagle's Ringside to Gordon's burning tanker stage - packed full of detail. My fave is the Joker's stage - it's weird , but so well done!

Awesome boss encounter too, King Leo is one of the most dynamic boss encounters since Krauser in FF2. The music is brilliant and the crumbling stage bleeds quality. Try King Lion vs King Leo -the pre-fight sequence is especially cool

I use Hayate, Eagle, and Mezu the most.

Why sell the CD Version? the Arranged music is bloody great in SR, most of the tunes are top tier! loads aren't bad either, keep it!

I agree Savage Reign is a great game, the
homecart is better than the CD version though
all the way.

Btw, good luck finding a nice copy for the AES,
it took me long enough to find one.

I seem to remember reading some reports that Last Blade didn't do too well in the arcade circuits, which is why there probably won't be another sequel, although it is, in my book, the indisputable champ of sword fighting games... nay, all fighting games, period.

I think Savage Reign is ok to play in short bursts... I actually own a full Savage Reign MVS kit and I'm still not entirely sure why I bought it. There are some nice aspects to the game that make it worth playing and it is not the total POS that some people make it out to be, but it could have been a lot better.

Kizuna Encounter IS an awesome game though... so I would love to see another game in the series, even if it is highly unlikely.
