is the world starting to go Neo mad

all this stuff is for the neo cd, now the auctions finish later on this evening but some of the prices are stupidly high

is it a collector wanting the game real bad or just somebody putting a high proxy on it:

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3013734967&rd=1" target="_blank">Art of Fighting 3 - neo cd</a>

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3013734994&rd=1" target="_blank">Burning Fight - neo cd</a>

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3013734723&rd=1" target="_blank">2 neo cd controllers</a>

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3013735021" target="_blank">Fatal Fury - neo cd</a>

now the sellers feedback is perfect so i totally doubt underhand ebay tactics are at hand

this definately isnt because they are sealed as i recently won an auction for Fatal Fury 1,2,3 all sealed and us versions for 32usd - he has those 3 games and together the price is 132usd

maybe its time bonuskun updated the Neo cd price guide, been asking for this for some time

Maybe its the Neo cd's time to be uber collectable

Discuss :) :) :) :)

Why oh why did did I open my USA Burning Fight. Junk game anyway.

But this is weird, I guess since maybe they are USA CDs...

By the way, why do all of these Brazilian/South American sellers have so many sealed neo CDS?

Hey....

Maybe I'll sell my Neo CD pads at a similar cost if there are people stupid enough to buy them at that price. (I prefer sticks anyway)

It's quite strange to see Bonacorsi with that bidding level!

Last time I saw him selling SEALED NGCD games they were really quite cheap.

And thrust me that he's a thrustworthy seller.
Could this have some pricejackers behind those auctions ?

that is exactly why i started to watch these items, i thought because he was in Brazil the items would finish low

bought a bunch of neo cd games from a Brazilian ebayer called 'wagnerlopes' - the items arrived very quickly and in the end i got 7 us sealed neo cd games for around 10usd each (including shipping)

so i guess i was hoping that some of this stuff would be around the same price

all i can say is WOW

If only we had Cleber posting regularly lately, he could enlighten this up. I guess he knows almost every SNK merchandise seller in Brazil.

And for those who don't know, Brazil is for Neo Geo what Arabia is for Oil... tons of material to be found there. they have a lot of SNK stuff.

If I remember correctly, they had a corporation of SNK called SNK of Brazil, wich was the responsible for all the SNK success in the "Latina America". wink

all i can say is stupid idiot :p

those prices are insane - i dunno if price jacking is at work, or that guy is just seriously into sealed games!

i have bought 7 CD games in the last month:

King Of Fighters 94 (US)
and '95 (US)
Savage Reign (US)
Art of Fighting 3 special box (JP)
Samurai Shodown 3 (JP)
Fatal Fury 3 (US)
Art of Fighting 2 (JP)
Real Bout 2 (JP

and the most expensive was Real Bout 2 at $30, in fact i paid less than $100 for the whole lot.

must the original seal, can't think of any other explanation ???

agreed - but if you want a game i suppose

since i started this thread burning fight is now over 60bucks, fatal fury 2 is now over 40bucks and the funniest thing of all the us version of fatal fury is now worth more than the metal slug 2 he is selling

fatal fury just went over 80bucks - what the fuck

the guys who are bidding arn't newbies either - some feedback is in the hundreds and the lowest is 20

may be time to reap the rewards and sell my sealed collection......

More price jacking guides ? tickled

I think the main reason why NGCD have no games priced up to the roof is due to a non existance of a Price guide.

But it's a Neo Geo system, and deserve well a priceguide too. It just have to be done with competence. wink

I think the NEO cd games are going up on their own.... I am not going to say what titles.. butI have beenclosely observing sales of games over the past couple months.... some odd titles are SKYROCKETING.

honestly, sometimes the market makes itself.

Possibly true, but if the brand of the NGCD was "SEGA", the market would went down the street.

I love SEGA, but everything they do lose value ( generally ). So, like it's a SNK console, it's self skyrocketing just because of that. wink

First of all, certain games are obviously very rare on cd format. I would classify the first Fatal Fury as one such rare game.
It also is because they are sealed.
I am a cd collector and getting some of the older Neo cd's in english format sealed is not a easy task. I do not bother because I have no interest in a sealed collection.

Also taken into account that cd games are very cheap on the whole, those prices really don't shake the idea we've been following about neo games.
Japanese Neo CD's are a dime a dozen, I have got triples of certain cd's and in most of those cases they are japanese. This excludes jp only cd's.

Guys,

These are NOT fake bidders or price jackers.

I know 2 of the sellers personally & they need a few games to complete their collections.

I have never seena a sealed copy of Fatal Fury or AOF1 for that matter.

This stuff happens. I got $120 for an EMPTY Neo Geo System box.

Go figure.....

well after i got home today i checked out some more of his sales:

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3013735294&rd=1" target="_blank">Puzzled - neo cd</a>

i am not claiming that there is underhand tactics going on, like i posted in my first post - his feedback is perfect so i totally believe the bidders are genuine

but i dont think that the games he is selling are rare - i won an auction from Brasil just over 3 weeks ago and the stuff was cheap so i guess i expected this stuff to go my much cheapness as well:
<img src="http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_d907f3185b941f188ce5427cc90e1a86/i-1.JPG" alt=" - " />
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=3009412848" target="_blank">fatal fury 1,2,3 auction</a>

Metal slug 2 finished at 77usd, but fatal fury was 84usd

Just cant believe the price it went for

Same old, buster. :)

With the Burning Fight and FF auctions, IMO someone tried to complete a collection. $80 for FF? That's a joke, but prices for this CD are constantly on the rise since about two years. It's also difficult to get in very good condition and complete, specially the JPN version. These are just my experiences, tho.

AoF3 is overpriced. I wouldn't even pay that amount for the AoF3 Hoe Hoe box except if it would be super-minty-fresh, which is difficult to find for a decent price because of the high risk of marks of normal use (white spots on the edge of the box, etc.). Not that I'd care, tho.

Typically, CD games that are harder to find/more expensive fall in one of the following categories:

- CD-exclusives except KoF96 Special (Brikin'ger, Crossed Swords 2, ADK World, etc.)
- Games that ppl like better on CD or that have additional play modes (Slug 1, NTM)
- "First parts" of some franchises (FF, AoF, WH)
- Sought-after games that are available on cart but are too expensive for most ppl (at least on homecart, like Overtop, Neo Driftout or Slug 1)
- "only-choice" games; take Magical Drop 2, 3 is not available on CD, so ppl buy 2 just to get a MD CD game.

Btw., I've seen ppl who started to collect Neo CDs in order to build a soundtrack library. They don't intend to play the games, they just want the OST/AST on (original) CDs without having to find all the official (but kinda obscure) Neo/SNK soundtracks. That takes certain CDs away from the market without making them considerably more expensive. That also means that they show up in different circles when they get sold again. Who knows, perhaps I should check a few 2nd hand music CD shops... :)

And about the CD pads... well... I've seen them go for insane amounts in the past, so the auction you posted just continues a trend. I dunno what ppl are up to with such prices... and what's more, I don't know why others BUY two of them for more than $100... the CD pads aren't bad, but for $100 I could buy an X-arcade solo stick.
