This was posted within another thread, here's the FYI:

Shawn:
A FAQs section for Neo-Geo.com is already under development and is currently being organized by Mouse_Master. If you have a FAQ you would like to contribute please contact keith@neo-geo.com. The FAQs section will host (w/ authors approval) a vast database of Neo related FAQs. I believe Mouse_Master said he’s already accumulated 40 MB of text files!
Be a part of it! :D

I posted this in that thread, so I guess I'll post it here as well:

Are the FAQs going to be just plain text, ala GameFAQs? Or would you be able to beef them up? I think it would be awesome to have nice looking FAQs, with screenshots, going over every move in a combo or whatnot, much like you would find in a strategy guide you would buy at a store. You could break the guide up into sections (like page 1: move lists, 2: combos, 3: profiles, etc..) You could use small screenshots so that it doesn't appear to have many large ones (like the ones found in reviews), so you could be able to work with everything.

I mean, I think Neo games deserve that much, especially for the #1 Neo site out there. It would definitely set a high standard and set the guides apart from the rest.

I was thinking of something along the lines of:

http://zebesfiles.org/faq/faq.html

Keep in mind I did this in like 5 minutes, but it shows the general idea. Perhaps the screenshots could be smaller, or better yet, they could be the same size, except cropped down to just the two people so you can see moves to the combo better (however, some would like to take note of the damage it will do).

I think something like this would be so awesome, especially if good people get to doing guides like that (cause I suck too much to do a comprehensive guide on a game).

The first wave may end up being plain text, but if people want to submit more elaborate ones, then I personally see no problem with it.

So will you be covering everything needed to become acquainted with ng.c? So will you be needing a little Q&A along the lines of:

Q: What is MUNG?
Q: What does ASL mean?
Q: What is the big deal with hobos?
Q: Do I really need to watch the movie HACKERS to become a ng.c elite member?
Q: I'm looking for a bubblegum blue automatic porsche, know where I can find one?

Stuff like that? Or is this a hardware/games only FAQ?

what are faqs?
FAQs = Frequently Asked Question(s)

It something like Readme or Help file or manual. Tells you most of the general info. Can be presented in Question-Answer format or explanations by topics.

How will those faqs be ordered ?

Will they be general faqs or just gaming faqs ?

It'll be cool to have a great comprehended Debbug BIOS faq, coz' a lot of games don't work well in MVS mode. wink

Just a suggestion...

We already have gamefaqs, which is a source of "dead" information for all Neo Geo games that were not recently released. Is there any way we can have a system where there is 1 FAQ per game that anyone on the site can ask to have updated with relevant information?

The main reasons for this would be so that people can correct errors in old FAQs and add new combos, rather than having to write their own FAQ from scratch.

On the minus side, this would mean that every FAQ would need an owner or a few mods to control the updates. And I don't really recommend this until there is a comprehensive base to work off of, it would be chaos when starting from scratch.

So where do I send the faqs to?
I would like to do a section on what real/original MVS cart boards, casings, end labels look like.
And Boots..
Taking pics when needed and hosting them..when needed.......OR..
If I could take the pics and send them to this site for posting that would be easier.

I have the camera and lots of MVS carts.
I have more than what's in this pic now..
I could use some help from other members though..

Thanks Bobak.
What do you think about this idea,,can I do this Faq?
Who do I ask?
Honestly, I think it's safe to say that any pertinant information to the Neo Community is ripe for a FAQ. GA did an Internet Fraud FAQ. So I think there's nothing wrong with a non-game FAQ.

I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but are you accepting FAQs for actual battle strategies in Neo Geo games? If so, I have an old Chin Gentsai KOF '98 FAQ I can dust off and contribute. I had it on GameFAQs for a while now.
