Theres one converted copy of Slug 1, which in the picture looks mighty fine with its own old style case and insert

Priced at $295 now I don't know much about converted carts so is this a good alternative to the real thing?

Plus do converted carts hold there value?

If you really care about the "value" then go ahead and get the real thing.

If you want to play AES Metal Slug but don't have a lot of money, get converted cart instead.

converted cart isn't a bootleg if it uses original parts and states it's "converted", not "original"

It's just like the real thing, i mean the game is THE SAME, but it's not a legit release...
From a collector's point of view its value is 0, from an AES gamer's point of view it's the cheapest way to play MS on NeoGeo AES... now, it's your choice...

I have a conversion and a real one and I've gotta say that I think the conversion is definitly the way to go.

It looks good on your shelf, plays great, and represents a great value.

I only paid 'bout $200 for my Slug 1 arcade conversion thanks to a great seller on these boards.

I thought conversions weren't going to be sold in the neo store anymore?

Wookie mate,

You can get one cheaper from arcade.. sure its not jmkurtz..

also.. I've seen ms1 conversions with snaplocks go for less than $299

as ms1 did originally come in snaplocks... ff3 is the sac cart used usually if I remember correctly..

Never support conversions is where I stand. It promotes the destruction of original SNK carts.

am I correct in saying that? I'm pretty sure, as I got offered one before stating ff3 was used as a sac cart.. and also I believe it matches up on nick_th_fury's sac chart 'thing'.

please correct me if I'm wrong :)

LWK.. I too believe this..

but I can't see another way of getting a cheap slug1..

I might be 'pure' and get a slug 3 instead..

Quite right, FF3 is one of the most common sac carts for MS1, and as you said gives the newly created cart a nice snaplock case as well. Adios, FF3, we hardly knew ya!! (And hardly cared, hehe . . . )

i used a kof95 for mine, if your concerned about destroying carts, just find someone whose selling a bad condition or loose cart. i wouldn't have wanted to kill a mint kof but mine came with no manual and a destroyed case

Road to the Final Conversion. :(

Such a goddamn waste. :( FF3 will become the next Kizuna in several years. Guess why Kizuna is so hard to find?

hmm,

converted slug 1 or slug 3

I'll probably go slug3 anyway, as I have access to the ngcd slug1.. which is better than the aes version (IMO).

Slug3 would give you more longevity wookie, I'll prolly go that route.
