yay.. in the world of neo geo development the coder finds it paramount to produce an insert and a cart sticker for games that are in alpha stage

<a href="http://www.neodev.de.vu/" target="_blank">http://www.neodev.de.vu/</a>

after all.. I'm sure SNK made the insert and sticker for garou before actually typing a line of code..

obviously

Oh my god, they did this game only for fun (at least
till now) and yet there are people making fun
of them, because they created an insert for
their game. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />
Make fun of NGF if you feel like it, but not of
hard working hobby coders.

hey, believe it or not.. I'm a console hacking "hobbyist" as well.

But I would rather get some code done, than waste time on an insert for unfinished code...

wouldnt you?

Frankly spoken, No I wouldn't do it either.
But neither wouldn't I make fun of someone, who
did, because I can imagine people that actually
appreciate this inserts and are thankfull for
them.
And by the way, if you take a look at the
gaming industry, you'll see many artworks and
also package designs of games, that are very
far from completion.
So this is not shocking news. I think even SNK
had flyers with the actual cover art for their
wholesale customers.

Although, lets look at this another way... I downloaded the ROMs and gave the game a try... man that is lame version of pong... my old Radio Shack rip off of pong was better in the early 80s. Then, you read on their page that they never tested the game on real hardware, only in Rage... so, chances are this thing won't even work on the real hardware, or will be buggy as hell... so, the idea of releasing a cart insert and sticker is just really lame... because they don't even know if this thing will be running on AES hardware (which it may not). Above all, the game stinks... really, it does... I am all for supporting the indie developers, as long as they are releasing interesting and well thought out products... OK, so they can't do awesume graphics or sound, thats fine, but why port, and badly, the simpliest game in years... A shooter, or a puzzle game would have been better... I mean a Galaga or Defender rip off would have been met with much higher praise, atleast from me... likewise Jeff's really retro looking pac-man... sure it does not even look as good as Pac-Mania from 87, but it is a good game and is almost promised to be a blast to play (its freaking pac-man). Rant over, these guys should have spent more work on their game (better background picture, changing background pictures, simple sound, better graphics, more options and levels, items in the level... should I stop here)... and less worrying about an insert and sticker for a system they never even tried the game on,
