Really, who gives a shit on this!

1. It is most certainly an MVS-only

2. It is still unclear, what it contains and what it is capable of.

3. We´ve already seen the "success" of the N64 after the SNES.

4. IMO it is no NeoGeo at all. The old 16-bit is the only one to go (okay, except the Pocket)
I do not want a new system at all!

the crystal system represent a good way to produce new neo products with more "power". Everybody here know that SNK has pushed the neo to the limits and if you want some graphics or animations improves, you need to find a more powerful support.
We have technical data from the crystal system, take a few times to write to the company and they will answer you quickly. I have made it twice and they give me the adress of the european seller and other infos.
You compare the crystal to the n64. We speak here about arcade hardwares so this is not the same market.
I agree with you that we don't now what it's capable but it's true for all the new systems.
I'm not worried about this new support because I know that brezzasoft is behind that ans even if it's not SNK, they still have the "neo spirit".
You can refuse the support, pretending that the neo geo is the only one but you can refuse the evolution.
If like with cars, some people believe that the best ferrari is still the 250 GTO.

i like the neo ,but this could be realy the future for 2d games !!!

they have talked about ms5 on a other system !
i don't like the idia,but when..so i hope here !!

brezza soft has the spirit....who else is so mindles in this times and brings a 2d hardware out..?

i think we would....,but we are as stupid as they !!
believe ......give them a chance move !!!

they have me on there side !!!!

but i love snk !!
thats fact !!!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src="graemlins/multi.gif" border="0" alt="[Multi Color Bouncey]" />

Yeah, sure!

1. Everybody thoght the C64 has nothing more to other before Manfred Trenz introduced TURRICAN for it.

You can increase the NEO anytime because it uses a cart and not CD technology. That means you can add extra graphic chips and extra Ram into the cart.

And new systems are better, but make programmers lazy.

We already had that on the PS. Presentation is everything than and Gameplay and innovation is only secondary!

I have no faith in this!

i agree with some of your arguments, but i think most of the time it's not the programmers who became lazy !!

gaming has became mainstream, big buisness !!!
a game has to came out one a fixt date....and when it's not ready..?
who cares !!
this days it's about money !!
sad but true !!
not many companys care about gameplay and take time, maybe treasure...or nintendo !!!

so under this preasure..how can you develop a good game..?
they take it away,so what they do...alot of firework !!!

but the crystal system is 2d..a least, give it a chance !

The_move there are the infos that you need:

Processor
(handles graphics AND sound): 32Bit EISC CPU Core(cache 4k)
Wavetable Synthesizer(32channel, 16bit)
High performance 2D Graphic Based on 3D memory controller, Other
peripherals.
Operating Frequency: CPU 43MHZ / Graphic Core 86Mhz
Memory: Main mem 8MByte, Texture mem 8Mbyte, Frame mem 8Mbyte, Data mem selectable
Copy Protection: Built in
Display: 15Khz, 24Khz, 30Khz
Interface: JAMMA, Extension slot, Ext Serial port, 3/4P expansion slot
Sound Format: 44.1Khz, 16bit Stereo, I2S Format
Graphic effect: Zoom in/out, Rotation, Alpha Blending, Shading, Line-scrolling
Backup System: 32KByte SRAM, RTC
AMP: 22Watt, Stereo

You said that you can improve the neo geo but you can't improve the resolution for example. There are limitations due to the fact that the hardware use a 16 bits sytem. Parhaps that the limits are not reached but there are some effects that the neo will never be able to do.

Good thought, The_Move. I completely agree. However, I believe new systems will be necessary to complete jobs the neo just can't. If these new systems come out, and are supported for 10 years, like the neo (but from the systems we've seen come out, that surely isn't the case), then I really do have faith that programmers will challenge the equipment they are working with, and try to be as innovative as possible.

Sorry, Robert, but this ingredients look like an 6 year old technology!

Maybe the Colour-variety and soundquality would be increased, but the rest could be achieved by enhancement chips on regular Neo-Carts!

This is no big change after all!

The best thing to do is to wait to see the first releases. I think this can a better argument than the tech infos that I can give you.
