When the neo really does die, and we all abandon ship, what next?
Personally this is a weird issue on one hand we have met some cool people on the other we have acquired some bitchin games, but when its all over then what our your plans?
Personally neo dont have enough control over my life, I could literally stay in the scene forever.
To bad the scene was doomed from the begining.
I thought about asking this since I saw a topic saying "what next" or something in that manner.
What are your thoughts?

I'll continue to collect the games I want, and play them... It might be nice to not have a $650 must have game on the horizon... might make my girlfriend happy too, cause I won't talk about SNK all the time <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I don't know, will anything change around here... I mean SNK has been releasing lackluster games for the last few years... has anything hit you as hard as the first Samurai Shodown... Inspired you as much as when KOF first evolved into the game it is today... lately it is rehashed, repackaged games. Well they are great games, whats new about them. MS3 is gorgeous, but is it any different then X? Just branching boards and newer things to see... and is Metal Slug X really that different then MS... not really, just new things to blow up. Garou is fantastic, but it is the same old fighting game... nothing new. Sengoku 3 is way to late. PI 2 and Strikers are the same old shooters we have played since the 80s. KOF 2K bores me. I no longer even want to buy it, I will stick with 96, 98, 99 they are all practicly the same game, with minor changes. NitD is the only game I think warrants buying these days, but even that is a repackage of sno brothers.

So in a sense, SNK is already dead, we are only going to get updates to the old franchises. Dust off the code, redraw some backgrounds, add new characters into the engine, write a few new songs... thats it, you already own the games, you are just getting updates... $650? Your call... I know I will buy MOTW2, SS5, LB3, MS4, SvC if they ever come out, but I am starting to doubt they ever will. And unless KOF2K1 has all new characters and plays completly different, I'll skip it, that series needs to be taken out of the oven... it's way overdone.

Just my thoughts, SNK may be dead right now, we don't even know... but we are not going anywhere... there are a ton of games in circulation to collect... and hell, if people leave the scene, they will sell off their carts and hard to find and rare carts will drop in price making the hobby even more fun!

The main thing I think we would notice is the death of the news and rumers section. I don't see SNK going down again soon but who knows, there is always a possibility that they will continue on even after the MVS dies. Only time will tell.
