I can only assume that since this guy is a new seller that he looked at other people's auctions and borrowed the terminology they were using in their titles... it is kinda funny though.

Some people should really investigate more before they put an auction up. Oh well, it caught your attention didn't it

That's kind of dumb, my search string is:

Neo Geo -(home,cd,pocket,color,aes)

It would have never come up for me

I think this guy just put in AES because he wanted people who searched for AES to see his MVS auction as well as those other, better games for AES.

I wouldn't say this is counterintuitive. This seller is smart. By adding the words "AES" and "HOME" to the title, he'll get more hits because his auction will be more likely to be found in a search.

For example, if someone searches for "Neo Geo AES", they'll get this auction as a match, even if the "searcher" isn't looking for MVS titles. Perhaps this person will take interest in the auction anyway, if they also have an MVS board or the Phantom-1.

I've seen this done before. It may be misleading, but is it unethical? That's debatable, I think. In this case the item description is clear.

That's true, but I would hypothesize that more people use search strings with multiple words (no exclusions) than using exclusions.

Rio I know what the seller is doing by adding AES and home to the title. I just think it misrepresents the item he is selling. Thats all.

I think the seller is just trying to get the most hits on his auction he can......If he didn't have a picture then he would be mis representing the auciton....but as you can plainly see it is a MVS kit and not a home kit........so I think his intentions were to get more hits for a search than to mislead the buyers......just my thoughts.....

Like I said, that's debatable. In this case the extra words are only thrown in the title. And if you read the description, as any bidder should, it's very clear that this is the MVS version.
