This is the result of some inspired fandom and a fair amount of boredom. Enjoy, and try not to be TOO cruel...

When the PS2 is lacking and the DC's almost dead,
and the Saturn doesn't measure up to everything they said,
when you want to get your game on and the competition's weak,
you have to look much harder for the gaming high you seek.
The search has led you pretty far, but nothing's that appealing,
and nothing really offers up that proper arcade feeling.
You realize it's out there, and the price you'll have to pay,
but deep down you know it's worth it, and you'll have your own someday.
You find the online auction, quite a deal, so it would seem,
and make the bid to win your prize, and dream your gamer's dream.
To put the game into the system, the controller in the port,
to settle down with Metal Slug, or maybe Last Resort.
Your friends don't see the things you see, and don't get your obsession,
but that will make no difference after it's in your possession.
Sure, you could do the emu thing to play your favorite game,
but deep inside, you know the truth: it's simply not the same.
To play the latest KOF, to find a mint Last Blade,
to know the game is really worth the hundreds that you paid,
to give the makers all their due, to enjoy their creations,
to spread the word of SNK in this Capcom-addled nation.
It's true that most will disagree, and call it all a waste,
but really, all it means is that you just have better taste.
Now fire up that Neo; it'll banish all your doubt
that this is what 2D gaming's REALLY all about.
I dedicate this lousy rhyme to good old SNK,
who gave me many memories I carry to this day.
If only I could carry on the dream in those three letters,
but if nothing else, I have the one that's...
BIGGER
BADDER
BETTER!!
