Texas Tournament - My Impressions....

First - Why did so many of you say you were going to be here, and _15_ people showed up???

anyhow, us 15 had a great time playing.. theres not gonna be a VCD, due to many technical problems. I had a great time... got 3rd on Metal Slug, and 2nd on Samurai Shodown 4. The winner of the KOF 2000 tournament got $75 and a t-shirt <courtesy of me> and a large shopping spree from shawn to this site. <im not sure how much..> Second place... I felt really bad. A guy flew in from FRANCE to be here, and for such a poor tunrout... anyhow, he got second in KOF 2000. no money, $125 certificate from shawn, and i gave him 2 t-shirts.. Everybody except me went to go see Tomb Raider <blech>... thats why im writing this now.

hopefully the next one will be better.. oh, and what happened to you guys from new orleans?? you were only around for like 20 minutes, then split. And you two that couldnt find your way from albuqurqe <sp?> to dallas.... sorry! if you'd known where you were when you called, we could have helped you! I had a great time, met some great people, and finally met my match at samurai showdown 4.. :P

hope to see more of you there next time..we'll make sure things are better, and learn from our mistakes from this time around.

I had originally planned to go but had to back out in the end which a lot of people knew about. Now I'm glad I didn't go. I wanted to see some real Garou players besides myself, DDR_Gasukai, & Kamui. It seems like this was a waste of time since so many people pussied out. All I know that if this happens again, I'm going to be there no matter what. I was thinking before I saw this thread how much I really REALLY wanted to be there to see of my Gato was able to stack up VS the other guys out there. Speaking of Garou, Who won that? And also Last Blade 2 for that matter? I mean KoF 2K is awesome but let's not forget the other titles!!

Rancor I won the 2k tourney and didn't get any Neo-Geo store credit. Should I have? I'll be there sometime during the week, I was wondering about that after I had left. Thanks for a good tourney, just bad luck is all. I hope you guys aren't disheartend at all. You guys did a good job in my opinion. another problem,
no one gave a rats about mark of wolves,it got no play.and last blade two same sittuation.It seemed like roger would rather wipped his ass with that game.
No one did anything except play kof 2000.Yeah!

I have to say was that what bugs me is that I flew for NOTHING. I flew expecting a grand and elaborate tournament with many people but instead the atmosphere was like people playing from a local arcade which I COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT FLYING THERE. IT WAS JUST SO MISREPRESENTED.

I would say the BOTTOM LINE is that I did not have to FLY there to see and participate in something like that. I could have just driven down the street to the local arcade to play.
