This is a two quesiton post.

1. Whats the most addictive game you have ever played?

2. What game have you gotten the most pissed off at and what did you do to relive your anger?

Answer:

1. Tetris is the most addictive game I have ever played. Simple game, but oh so addictive. :)

2. Castilvania Symphony of the Night is that game for me that has made me the maddest I have ever been at a game. It made me so mad that I quit playing the game took it out of the PSX and broke that DAMN GAME INTO TINY LITTE PIECES and boy did I feel better. No loss Playstation games are a dime a dozen and yes the anger management program has helped.

1. Pulstar
2. Pulstar, broke my NGH-version into pieces... not :)

But seriously, sometimes I get pissed as hell but i manage to stay away from the game, instead I try to simply scream out in anger :)

The thing I love about Pulstar though is the fact that I almost never get angry no matter how hard the game is. Instead I get that wonderful "Gah, only one more time, this time I'll make it!"-feeling, hehe.

The most addictive game I have ever played is pretty tough because I've played so many games over and over simply because it was too much fun:

NHL 94 (Gen)
Pirates! Gold (Gen)
SF2: SCE (Gen)
Rock 'n Roll Racing (SNES)
Donkey Kong (GB)
Baseball Stars 2(NG)
ISS '98 (N64)

But if i recall correctly, I'd say that the game I've most played over and over again is:

Super Punch Out (SNES)

I just can't get enough of beating the shit out of everyone. I must have beaten that game a thousand times and I'll do it a thousand more.

My most aggravating game would have to have been NFL 2K1. I got intercepted so many times, I punched a hole thru the closet door.

Hmm... the most addicitve game I've played in recent times is MAX PAYNE for my XBOX. I bought the system and the game like 2 weeks ago and beat it within 4 days. The game just appealed to me in a way that nothing has in a long time. But then I'm into offish nihilistic stuff, and the fact that James McCaffery did Max Payne's voice was really cool, as I'd been a McCaffery fan since the ill fated 13 episode Dick Wolf cop show "Swift Justice" where he played Mac Swift... but the show was too ahead of it's time with time elapsed, speed up, speed down cut scenes, controversial plots (like a pedophile ring let by the fat cop on Boomtown who takes a then unknown Julia Stiles who's an Amish girl for their own purposes in NYC)... among other things that led to the series being pulled. Today there's a lot worse out there but in mid 1996 America had yet to embrace HK wire work, Chow Yun-Fat, Takeshi Kitano and Anime still wasn't on TV yet. Thus I felt like I was playing "Swift Justice The Video Game".

As for the most annoying game... It's still hands down LAST RESORT for NEO:GEO. As I have said in the past the game pissed me off enough that I literally drop kicked the cart out my bedroom window glass and all, then stomped on it with my steel toe boots. Funny thing is it still worked. That was in 97 before I began to better control my outbursts of violence due to video games, but am still prone to make real estate prices sky rocket provided a game has enough cheese factor in it.

(1) Tie:
Civilization (whatever version)
Sim City (whatever version)

(2) Pit Fighter (Genesis)
Smashed a tv controller while using old-style Genesis controller as a Bat-a-rang. Pulled the game out of the system while on and flinging it several times. No other game before or since has proked such a responese. Yes, I still like it and play it (only now I don't get angry, I stopped being like that when I was around 13).

1.)Shinobi(original)
Shinobi(ps2)
Streets Of Rage 2
Dynamite Dekka 2
Nba Street
MOTM
Pulseman
Mega Man X3

2.)Indepeandance Day= It was a B-Day gift from an aunt(who loves Will Smith), the horrible gfx, control, and overall game play was just to much to put up with. So I chucked it out of the window

The first Knockout Kings for the ps2, the long ass loading times just pissed me off so much it to was out the window by the time it said press start

1. Killer Instinct would probably be the winner. Nothing quite like playing Dial-A-Combo. UMK3 is also one of my favs. Anything in the Metal Gear Series (even Snake's Revenge) is like crack to me, also. Solid is probably the best of them all, with MGS2 being the worst. (I tried replaying it a few times and I get as far as the tanker's external cat walks) I *love* kicking the shit out of Liquid.
Rygar (NES) is also up there. Except for the whole stay-in-one-spot-so-you-can-kill-stuff-to-gain-experience part.. and the dying. lol

Also of note: MvC2, MK2, Tekken3, NFL Gameday '97, Soul Calibur, Quake 3 Arena, Wizards and Warriors, Super Metroid, Big Tournament Golf, Last Blade 2, KOF 2000, Colonization

2. The most frustrated I have ever been.. hmm... Good one. KOF '98 vs. Rugal. I threw my controller, then realized what I did. I hate 98 so much just because Rugal is so FUCKING CHEESY. Argh.. I'm getting mad just typing this. Also, Metroid was punishing as hell too, especially the long room before Mother Brain. I still have never finished that game. I always die right in front of that ugly bitch.

TankJr on Quake 3 Arena also made me want to wear a helmet of bees.

1. Whats the most addictive game you have ever played?

Streets Of Rage 2, it's digital crack. I play it, and finish it regularly, it's awesome.
Also Metal Slug 1 (yes, 1) on the Saturn. pick up and play.

2. What game have you gotten the most pissed off at and what did you do to relive your anger?

Recently, Dead To Rights ' Chapter 3: Iron Point Prison. i got so pissed off at getting my ASS handed to me by wanna be-thugs i threw my 24HOUR old xbox pad against the floor, breaking the right analog stick!!!
Rollcage for the PSX, i ripoped the disc and during play and flung it frisby style into my wall, breaking the disc and denting the wall.

To me its amazing how much a game can frustrate someone at times, but after my run in with Castilvania I realized if I ever get that mad at a game I just stop playing it then and go back and play it later.

Too many addicting ones to list, maybe I have an addictive personality... but the worst was KOF 99... I kept dying and dying at Krizalid's feet.... so much so I get pissed and slammed my fist on my MVS machine... Well, the shock jarred the machine and the screen went a bunch of colors... then Neo Geo logo........DOH! FREAKIN REST... I was so mad.

I walked away from that game right then and there. Of course I am now better, but man was I mad. I also remember being a little kid and playing NES... When I would do really bad I would punch myself in the leg as a quick release of pent up frustration... hehe, I remember one time (I forget the game) I litterly beat a bruise on my leg cause I was soooo mad at the damn game.

Ermmm, games are NOT addictive. That's a label you do not want attached to our hobby as the goverment boobs will pounce. Let's find another word for it. Perhaps it is not the game that is addictive but rather the game player has issues or is prone to addiction or may have a complusive attribute to his or her behavior or genetic makeup.

So, with that legal bit out of the way I would probably say that the old Atari 2600 classic River Raid awoke a compulsive gene in my system that I did not know existed in me. This is also the game that cause the self destruction of many Atari 2600 joysticks. Those plastic contact rings were no match for my strength.

I can't say for certain what is the most addictive game I've played... titles that have compelled me to plays for days on end would be:

Metroid (nes)
Flashback (megadrive)
Carrier Command (ST)
Championship Manager (PC/iMac - very addictive)
Tiny Toon Adventures (megadrive)
Out Run (spectrum)
Resident Evil (PSX)
Gran Turismo 1/2 (PSX)

Others that I can't remember off the top of my head... I've played so many good games down the years.

As for getting angry... well I've destroyed a variety of joysticks in all kinds of weird and wonderful states of violent anger (I have a very violent temper, but luckily don't lose it often).

It was a megadrive game, I can't remember what the title was... Altered Beast I think... anyway it did something and I got that mad i threw down the pad smashed my fist down on the megadrive - causing the case to splinter and shatter and the game to pop out the slot... the game was then hurled at the wall and smashed.

I felt a lot better.

Had to buy a new megadrive though as mine was literally destroyed... bruised my hand too.

There was another game that made me destroy the cart and throw a chest of draws after it... my dad wasn't too chuffed about the hole in the wall I created...

Councelling helped a lot...

Good question....

1). Most addictive is a toss up between two

- lemmings (amiga) (regually up at 5:30 to play it before school)

- Advance wars (GBA) Just can't put it down

2). Most frustrated
- samurai showdown 2 (just couldn;t play it) so i hit the screen and promptly sold the damn thing*

*for the record i have since bought 1 & 3 and love then but i just can't get on with 2.

Most addictive: Any version of Championship Manager - US posters probably won't know about this.

Most annoying: Robocop on my Amiga. I don't think I can think of a harder game. In the end I played it sooooooo much I could walk through the game without getting hit once. When I think back, that game was utter shit!

1. Whats the most addictive game you have ever played?

well i guess it would have to be windjammers for our lovely neo - most fun and most addictive game i have every played bar none

2. What game have you gotten the most pissed off at and what did you do to relive your anger?

Super Mario Kart on the snes - actually got a screwdriver and took the cart apart - snapped the circuit board inside - put it back together and threw it from my 3rd floor window

about a week later bought another one - normally i just smash controllers - its the scottishness in me

;)

On second thought, maybe I should just let you win everygame.

At least when you get here, I'll ACTUALLY play the game once in a while, instead of admiring it on display.

1. this is a tough one, I would say Tempest/Tempest 2000 for Atari Jaguar. I don't know why, but I can't put down the controller once I start playing.

2. I've played tons of frustrating games. I can't recall them all. But, for Neo, it would have to be Art of Fighting 2.

My #1 most addictive game is, without question, the NES version of Ninja Gaiden. I played that game like it was going out of style. My most addictive Neo Game is Ghost Pilots which I also play like it is going out of style.

The most frustrating game I've ever played would have to be AOF 2 and I really don't think I need to explain myself on this one.

The most addictive: Lunar (PSX)

Frustrating: Bust A Move. Ohhh that game sucks, Any Version, Any system. My wife can consistantly beat me at the game. THERE IS NO OTHER GAME that she can kick my ass at. To add insult to injury she even HATES video games. WTF! I just can not beat her at the game and I am suffering deep emotional problems because of it.

Bust A Move sucks. Period!
