Hey guys, I was cleaning the contacts on a Japanese copy of Mark of the Wolves and King of Fighters 99 that I purchases a couple of months ago from bbu9715965@aol.com and to my surprise they were both EPROMed. I have pictures of the boards so if anyone knows how to post pictures e-mail me and I'll send them to you so they can be posted. Thanks.

Wow!!

Bill Burger seems to be nice, I bought twice from him and everything went fine, no eproms, nor shit.

To get ripped off really sucks!

Someone posted a while ago that just because there are EPROMS in it, doesn't necessarily mean that it's pirate.

Yeah, $150 for MOTW and $120 for KOF99. I sent bbu9715965@aol.com the pics and asked him what he thought. HEHE! Like he'll ever get back to me!

I bought a 55 mvs cart package from him and none of my games were bootlegs. Some did have emprom, but I don't care because the emproms were on an official board with official roms also. Bill is a great seller.

My friend had a MOTW cart which looked a little dodgy, so we opened it up yes there was one wire and some eeproms , but the game had no glitches and all the endings. Draw from that what you will

Also, all of the EPROMs had the little magic windows on them. I realize that it might work perfect, but I paid for an original unmolested cart and that is not what I got.

I've purchased several MVS carts from Bill. All were original and the transactions went smoothly.

After speaking to someone who knows a thing or two about MVS, I can assure you of the following:

Many MANY MVS carts have EPROMS on them. Doesn't mean your cart is a bootleg.

Soldered wires are also not uncommon, SNK did it from time to time.

If it has any SNK chips on the board with the EPROMS it's not bootleg. Just keep it in a box when you're not playing it to protect it from UV light.

Most people see EPROMS in their cart and freak, thinking it's a bootleg when the truth is, your chances of getting a true bootleg are quite slim.

Hope this helps.

I just talked to Bill and he is upset someone would think he is selling bootlegs!

Before you guys get the rope out... calm down...

Check to see if the games have the security chip... if it does, it's probably legit. I know for a fact that the MOTW carts that had the EPROMs and wire are legit. Also, since that game hasn't been dumped, if the game is compete then it certainly isn't a bootleg.

I'm not as familiar with KOF99, but I've not known Bill to be dishonest.

Bill is a terrific seller and has my back too. I've bought MVS cartridges from him and they were 100% legit.

Hey guys, I thought I'd change my image a bit (didn't realize that there used to be a forum named Orichinagi, wanted to be more original). Anyway, I e-mailed the pictures to most everyone who posted here. Please post what you think. Thanks.

I took a look at the pics and believe the carts to be ligit, SNK stock. Both carts have the security chips... If I owned the MOTW, I'd give it a play through to ensure that the endings were there, but I'm confident that these are legitimate MVS carts.

I know that there are JPN territory MOTW carts with no EPROMs, but I can say that every Japanese one I have seen had them. They looked exactly like the ones in question, as well.

Thanks for the feedback. It's just that I've heard a lot about bootlegs having EPROMs with the magic windows and the jumper wire. I just got freaked out.

If you cart has endings, it's not a bootleg. End of story. the 4 EPROMs and the jumper wire are factory original. The LATER versions of US MOTW do not have EPROMs or the wire. ALL japanese carts I have seen and many of the early US ones have the 4 EPROMs and the wire jumper. No worries. You've got the real deal.
