What version of Pulstar is better, the Neo CD or the Neo HC? Mind you music is very important to me and I am assuming that the CD version has ARG tracks. How does the Cd version stack against the HC when you some up loading, price, and sound? Which would you prefer?

The music isn't much better from the homecart to CD - both are awesome. The NCD version seems to just have more depth to the sound. Not arranged, mind you, as the music in many of the fighters on CD are.

So which would you bu Wasabi? Keeping cost in mind. I know a new HC would be nice on a shelf but does it really warrant its price?

With cost in mind, the CD is great. I still haven't taken the leap to get the cart but I'm at the point that the only carts I want are pretty expensive.

As long as you aren't trying to get all your favorite games on cart, grab the CD.

Thanks Brentsg. I really dont want every Neo Game on HC. Pulstar would be one of them since its pretty expensive on HK and if it plays the same, looks the same, and loading is bearble then I will take the Cd version. I will probably never ever get a KOF, Real Bout, Samurai Showdown , or a Last Blade on CD. I will probaly as more of these CD VS. HC question after I pick up a Pulstar.

Whether or not you opt for the home cart should hinge on how much of a shooter fanatic you are. If you're just a dabbler in shooters, and view them as a diversion between rounds of KoF, (or whatever fighter you're hung up on) then the price probably isn't justified. But if you're like me, and got into the Neo for its shooters, Pulstar NGH will become one of the centerpieces of your collection.

Blazing Star is pants.

As far as I know the CD music is arranged with little difference from the original tracks however.

Basically, Pulstar is R-Type taken to the next dimension and beyond. If you like old shool deep space shooters and want to experience, not just play but experience something that will blow your mind, and possibly have you ripping your hair out, then get this game on either format. $500 give or take may seem like a ransom amount to plunk down for a video game but if you ask me this one warrants it. Or get the CD if you like as there was actually a limited run English pressing of it. Should you not be a fairly big shooter fan though, definitely go for the CD. That much money on a game you could want to smash into pieces = conflict of interests which can end in disaster.

Possibly? No, no, no - It's guaranteed.

Maybe it's just me, but they might as well give you the "game over" screen if you die mid-level. I love it. ;)
