Looks that auction has been canceled by the seller. Oh well, we'll never out what was up with it. In any case he mentioned 2 games were converted and ebay doesn't like that.

That's why I'd always buy a converted Metal Slug for AES at about $200. Buying a so-called "authentic" copy of US Metal Slug for $1500+ makes me relunctant not only because I wouldn't pay such a steep price for ANY game but also because the authenticity would be very hard to prove. I'm sure there's been many people duped into thinking they've bought an original run of Metal Slug when it was really a terrifically over-priced converted MVS cart.
