Okay, im a newbie, i really need to know this stuff. So come on you hardcores, gimme the best ways to tell its a fake copy of Slug 1, Aes. I really need to know! (I work in a shop and could have one sold to me without knowing it was a fake....)

Any serious help would be GREATLY appreciated. I mean, nothing stupid like 'check the cover is right' i know what the covers look like. I mean, if it looked exactlt the same, is there a sure fire way of really knowing?

Thanks again.

If everything else (insert, manual, sticker) seems o.k.... you have to open the cart and take a look at the actual board...

I've talked about this before, but I'll dig up my old post before, thanks to Yahoo Group conversion all the posts are messed up with paragraphs

Given the current market, most games aren't even worth counterfeiting, I'd say the following are mostly likely to have fake carts

Metal Slug
Chibi Quiz
Kizuna Encounter
Twinklestar Sprites
Neo Turfmasters
Blazing Star

A quick note on Metal Slug:

Jeff Kurtz and Ray Young at !Arcade! have converted a number of Metal Slug MVS to home carts with manuals, but they made the inserts different on purpose to show people they're converted carts, the original insert scans are available here

This is something good to hear!
!Arcade! is a clever entrepirse!
They create converted games for people that really want one on their AES system but they do with differences between the original and their copies so that even the collector can easily recognise them!
I always said I'm against the converted games but if all the converted games would created this way then I would not be against as much!
long live for !Arcade!, <img src="graemlins/mrt2.gif" border="0" alt="[Mr T]" /> .

NGF go to HELL! <img src="graemlins/blowtop.gif" border="0" alt="[Blow Top]" />
