In my home town we have a fast food joint called Double Double that serves pizza and potato wedges by a few foreigners. Anyhoo, they use to have a Neo Geo arcade machine and I think it had KOF 96 in it among others. I went back there recently hoping to talk to the guy who owned the place (and the arcade) into selling it to me. Unfortunately some scum-bag crashed his car right thru the front of the store, hopped out and stole all the arcade machines, including the precious Neo. I was kinda ticked at first, but then I realized that the thief was pretty resourceful in snatching the thing. How would the people here steal a Neo Geo arcade? Better yet how would you protect one from being stolen?

How do you just hop out and steal 300 lb arcade machines. One, his car is smashed into a store... how did he get away with that. Two, the machines are too big to be moved around to far by one person, let alone load into a truck... Three, did he have a truck or did he just run down the street with them... This seems like a tall tale at best,

Well what most people do is download an emulator and some ROMs.

Best way to "steal" Neo-Geo stuff though is finding morons who sell things "Buy it Now" on eBay super cheap. But I know that wasn't what you were asking... I feel kind of bad seriously thinking about stealing something like an arcade machine. I guess what I would do is find someone who owns some cabs like in their garage and steal them during the night.

I've seen crazy things like that on TV where some guys crash there car into some store then steal stuff and take off real quick.

He probably could have just driven right up to the cabinet and pushed it on the truck without having to move it far...He probably had help though, or maybe he was just that strong.

My cab would be pretty damn easy to steal now that I think about it, because it's sitting at the front window & you can see it from the street. The window there is big enough to get it through fairly easily, plus the window doesn't even have a lock on it!

Ask our local Dave & Buster's about that. A couple years ago, that happened there with an ATM.

Sometimes, these thieves who cart heavy items off like that have the adrenaline going.

I haven't ordered from Double Double in a long time. When we had our Sunday game nights, it was always a couple large pizzas with wedges.

Now, it's almost always Pizza Nova.

BTW, that's one dedicated gamer. Of all the things you could risk jail time for, I could come up with better targets than an arcade machine, especially a Neo cab which is probably cheaper than other dedicated machines. Sorry about your pizza place, though.

It really is a shame. The guy there always made me calzones that were larger than the plate. They are already pretty big but this was at least a foot long. What a guy...

I don't go there anymore, because now I'm afraid a phyco gamer will crash into the place with his car. Damn Neo Geo freaks. I'm switching to "cup and ball" now. You never know where that crazy thing is gonna go!
