1)Can Japanese MVS carts be played on an English cab. (will they be edited)

2)Are there any places to purchase a MVS cab near Sacramento?

3)All I need is a MVS cab and a 4 slot motherboard, and a mvs cart to play right?

4)What is a Jamma harness and does it come with the motherboard?

Thanks alot guys for answering my questions, Im new to this whole thing.

hey Mikace01 the nearest place to you I know of
would be www.arcadeinfinity.com , I got my candy cab from jeff and its great . he is in industry ca,near whitier{ L.A. area} so shipping is pretty low. figure 100-150.00 to your door for a 19 inch.
any geo board will play u.s. or japanese mvs carts,Im not sure if you will miss anything when going from jap to american ? I have several japanese carts that I play on an american MV1F and I havent noticed anything missing .
the difference between american boards and jap boards are the language that is displayed on them.
check out briggs site for complete info
www.hardmvs.com
a jamma harness is the type of wireing harness and connector used to connect any "jamma" type P.C.B. to the cabinet.
its just a standard .
be sure to check briggs out for all the different types of neo geo boards to see what you might want.
good luck
hope this is some help to you !

1) There's no such thing as a Japanese MVS cart. The label may be in Japanese, the artwork and the marquee may be in Japanese, but the game itself is bi-lingual (with the exception of the Quiz games which are straight up Japanese only).

If you play it on a North American unit it will play in English, and yes will be edited if the North American version is different.

The way around this is installing a 4X bios that Jeff Kurtz sells and Briggs sells a nice wire package for at
Hard MVS. With this chip and the two switches you can change the territory mode of your MVS to Japan, making the game completely unedited with the Japanese Language option.

3) Provided your cab is pre-wired Jamma+? Yes.

4) The Jamma harness is nothing more than a connection and a bundle of wires that attaches to the Jamma board, in your case an MVS board, and then runs the wires to the already installed components of your cab; sticks, buttons, monitor..

Briggs has more information on it on his site.

No, 9 times out of 10 a MVS board won't come with the Jamma harness.

Your cab may or may not have one installed already.

Turf Masters is great if you like golf games ? the better of the 2 available for the mvs
is that the price with shipping ?
jeff usually has them listed for 330.00 I think ?
as soon as you get a cabinet and a mvs board all you have to do is plug the mvs board in to the jamma type plug and fire it up .
also I would look around the net at the different cab monitor sizes , to get some feedback as to picture quality per size.
I can tell you from my own experience I prefere the smaller 25 or 19 inchers .
they have a much sharper better quality pic , I really like the 29s, their size is really cool.
but they tend to be rather grainy when compared to the smaller monitors

do they have 25 inch candy cabs, I really like the look of the candy cabs. its 550 plus shipping by the way for a candy 29, they has some other models for 330 though.

Those prices on the site are wrong Mikace. Give him a call or email with the product you are interested in and he will fill you in. All of his Neo cabs are ready to be hooked up and played right out of the shop.

You are looking at about $350 for a 29" Candy and about $150 for a 4 slot board.

that cab is made for a Neo Geo Hyper-64 .
notice the 10 inch lcd on top.used for the mini marque or when linked it has a camera and plays the others cam on it.
you can use it for anything but it will be more money beacuse of the lcd.
the standard 29s are much less

One more thing you need to know, if you are having it shipped to your home. Make sure the shipping company you hire are not a bunch of morons.

When I got my cab delivered they sent ONE freaking guy to unload the thing. It is not easy to lift a 4-Slot cab up a set of stairs with two people. :D
