What has been the hardest cart to find for your own personal collection????

Personally for me its SAVAGE REIGN - nobody seems to have it and the guys that do, dont want to part with it <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

On my hunt for this cart i have picked up Garou, Top Hunter, Dunk dream, Sonic Wings 3, Aerofighters 2 and even 2 Sengoku 2's (Jap and American) and these carts can be more reclusive to find than Savage Reign.

So the question is - which cart have you spent the most time searching for and found it eventually - i reckon Savage will be my White Elephant/Unicorn - i probably will never see it

But i have tasked 4 people to look for 1 so i may end up with 4 <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />

Top Hunter (japanese) was a very hard game for me to track down. I could not do it myself.

all the carts I want are out there - I see them all the time. I don't often see the prices I want to get them at though, but sometimes I get lucky.

What's been hard to track down for me has been the books (mooks).

I think mooks is a cross between magazine and books, which is what they are.

After I get Top Hunter in a couple weeks, I'm going for Magical Drop 2 or 3. I don't even want to think about how long it's going to take to find them.

I had once a US mint Savage Reign cart. Too bad, I sold it backwards. Big Mistake, now I miss that game. :(

Lots of games have escaped my grasp for years. I've actually owned some of them now, only if just to re-sell (in some cases), but the possibility of keeping them certainly did exist.

So for me.. probably Blazing Star. No matter what it seems I was simply never meant to have that game, probably just because I fell in love with the MVS version right from the get-go. Metal Slug is just out of the question now...

it wasn't very hard for the few cart I own. the easiest one was slug 2 jp. found it in a shop for a very good price at that time...

IMO - no mather how rare the cart is, you can easly find it since you have $$$ (except for a couple of EEEEER² - wich are sold in private sales). it's all about money and time. if you're patient enough, you'll found it for cheap.

All the carts I want are well within reach (MVS carts, that is). You think finding AES carts are difficult? Try finding SNK/Neo-Geo-related manga. It's very hard to find one for King of Fighters '99, I haven't seen one for Art of Fighting 3, or even Real Bout Special. But that's not the most difficult thing to find. Doujinshi (or fan manga) (especially non-hentai) is incredibly difficult to find. Sure, it's fairly common for series like King of Fighters and Fatal Fury, but the later King of Fighters series ('99 and up) are nearly impossible to track down. I won't even bother getting into series like Kizuna Encounter, Last Blade, Metal Slug, and Blazing Star (if you find one of the above titles, contact me and show me proof).

Gotta be Neo Turf Masters (US)

I spent over 6 months looking for that one.

When I found one, about 2 others popped up (1 of those freaked). Kinda strange how that works.

Blazing Star is hard to find, but I didn't have to wait very long to find one. Perhaps I just got lucky.

Savage Reign was an easy one for me. Buster_broon, Gamersabyss had one on ebay recently. Good price on it too. Too bad you missed out

Hi there!
I was in japan 3 weeks ago! There are a lot of Blazing Stars, but at a very high price: 80,000 YEN, so if anyone is intereted in a Blazing star cart mail my Friend Weisskreuz. He will go to japan for 2 month on June 18th. He could ship via ems directly from japan!

mailto: weisskreuz@chello.at

Yeah - the auction finished in the wee hours out here in the UK.

So before going to bed i bid on Super Sidekicks 3(won it) and Savage reign was sitting at 91usd - so i think i bid 135usd and i lost out

I'm sure i cried myself to sleep that night

All my games have been quite difficult to get (except Fatal Fury Special that I bought in an import shop here in Spain and Metal Slug 3 that I bought from NCS). The other carts I own (KOF95, KOF01, Last Blade 2, MOTW) have been quite difficult because I've always bought them from European people to avoid customs and only JPN versions of the games. You can have a look to eBay and you'll see that there's almost nobody in Europe selling JPN carts... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

There's not a cart really hard to find. Even The Super Spy carton box is on eBay right now, it's just a matter of money.

Anyway I'm still looking for a mint Baseball Stars Professional Jp AES... :(

Much sadness fellas...

I might have to add Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble to my hard to find list. It seems that most of the available carts on the market are 100% bootlegs. I received the following message from MDGAMESALES yesterday:

"the puzzle bobbles we get from japan but i am not sure if original or not.i think they are but to be honest with you the accepted norm
of this cart is conversion type as that is basically all they ever made..the only made a very limited quantity of original.."

<img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

My queries to other sellers on eBay usually end up something like this...

"I'm not sure. Don't bid if you want an original."

<img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" /> <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

And then there was Aslan11... sold me a boot as original.

<img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" /> <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

I guess I'm doomed to play the original game on other consoles. Playing a bootleg makes me feel "dirty." I just cannot do it.
