Today I bought the following games:

Metal Slug 1 MVS (AES value $1,300.oo)
Neo Turfmasters MVS (AES value $600.oo)

I get to play them on an RGB screen.
Got them both shipped FedEx to me for $118.oo

$2,000.oo vs. $118.oo

I love MVS!

Amen, Mike, amen. The MVS is the only realistic solution for hardcore gamers. Let the collector fucks scrape, pinch, and eat ramen to be able to afford that AES shit. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy the SAME art with my big stack of mooks, play all the same games, and enjoy life to the fullest, without lusting after a shelf of minty spines.

I agree, MVS does rule..

but at the moment I'm in student digs.. having a MVS cab will be my ultimate goal (candy mmm), but only when I get a fixed abode.

At the moment I'll keep blowing my student loan on AES.. doh

If only that were true, I have spent over £1600 GBP on 73 MVS carts.
They are cheep but not that cheep!
I prefer playing MVS to AES when on my sitdown cab, but can not be doing with standing cabs for so long (only a few games half hour / hour or so) and so would prefer playing an AES on an RGB TV sat on my sofa, rather than standing up at a cab.
But you can not beat the feeling of an arcade cabs controles, plus playing the games as they were meant to be played.
MVS rules!!!!!!!!!!

mike i agree

I have just bought King of fighters 95 & Fatal Fury Special both on MVS, and they cost me $50.00, for the 2 which is a bargin, considering the neo cart verson of KOF95 is in the $200.00 mark, phew!! god bless MVS, :p

One thing that still bugs me:
In order for me to play MVS games, what do I need?

- MVS slot
- arcade cabinet
- and what else?

Um, if you had those, all you'd really need is an MVS cart, a place to plug the game into, and something resembling a sense of fun!

you dont have to have an aracde cab, you can use a Supergun or super nova as it's sometimes called to play mvs, just plug the neo slot 1 into the super gun and put in the mvs cart and away you go, that how i play my mvs stuff, which is great cus i can use my TV instead of standing up all the time playing on a cab

it's depends where your from mate, if you are capable of making your own then do, it's cheaper, that's how i did mine, take a look at http://www.gamesx.com there they will tell you how to make one, click on the (cheap jamma at home) icon on the bottom left of the side, also take a look on http://www.ebay.com i've seen a lot of superguns on there in the past,

A cab is cheaper than a SuperGun on a good average.

You can probably find an old Street Fighter cab for $200 or so, especially because you're on the west coast where cabs are a little more abundant.

A good supergun will cost you $300 easily, and a lot more if you go for a really nice one.

Check the phone book and see if anyone around you sells cabs, if you can cut out the shipping/frieght from the equation, just getting a cab is the best solution.

I got a cab from Boston for $250, and it cost about $200 more to ship it to me. I took it because it had a nice size monitor, was in a collection (so it was well maintained, although I did put new buttons in just because I wanted to) and already had a MVS MoBo in it.

So basically I got a cab to play MVS games in for about the same price as a supergun and a MoBo.

Superguns are cool and everything, but there's this intangible quality of playing it on a beautiful cab the way god intended it.

Thanks for that wonderful information, Blaine!
I know that the TimeZone manufacturer here sells arcade cab, so I might buy it from them.

After a cab, I'll just have to connect the MVS slot and then play right??

it depends where you shop to, i found it cheaper when i first started off to by a super gun, rather than a jamma cab, i think it cost me about $150.00 including a 6 button joystick, and a sh+t load of controls on the super gun it's self, i guess you have to really test them out and shop around, i must admit i prefer to make them my selfs now
