I love playing metal slug in the arcades, I just love SNK games period but especially metal slug. I am really wanting a MVS arcade cabinet. Where is the best place to get them and what is a good deal so I know Im not getting ripped off. I want the home cart system but I noticed that the prices for the games are too high. Please post a link on as to where I can get a mvs arcade cabinet or even better contact me via AIM, my IM is mikace01. Help would be greatly appreciated, I want metal slug 1-3 sooo bad! Approximatley how much do these arcade cabninets cost and how much do the metal slug games run? Sorry for all the questions, I just need to know!

Theres lots of good places in Cal ,

Theres Candy cabs being sold on Ebay all the time in LA ,

Where do you live ?

Theres a price guide on this site for Neo Geo games, go to the main page and on the left side you'll see it , Look under MVS games ,

As for a candy cab , you can get one off Ebay for $300 ,

Hey I live close to you , I'm in the Bay area ,

Theres a place in Dixon that sells arcade stuff heres the link , http://www.videoconnect.com/ its very close to Sac ,

Thats where I get lots of Neo carts , they have some good prices but some stuff is over priced , like Metal slug games and cabs ,

Call them up and they will answer all your arcade questions , They have every thing you need and you can pick it up from their shop ,

Welcome to the boards man. To answer your question, MVS (coin op) Neo Geo machines ship with either a 1, 2, 4, or 6 slot motherboard. All this means is that you can insert 1, 2, 4, or 6 games simutaniously (neo geo boards work a lot like an n64. you simply insert carts into the motherboard). Most cabinets do ship with a motherboard and the description in the auction will most likely tell you what type it is. The "candy" that the above poster mentioned is probably your best bet. They are newer models and have larger moniters. With shuipping and all you could probably get one for around $450. I hope you like your MVS when you get it.

btw. yes it is a good deal. Buying an MVS machine is much smarter than an AES (home system) for a few reasons. The games for the most part are cheaper. It looks a helluvahlot cooler in your living room. And though this is debatable, you just cant beat arcade controls.

Candies are the smaller, more space effiecient (and easier to maintain) Japanese cabs. I have two. Much better quality than the bigger ones, IMO. I strongly recommend them, they're also cheaper!

Good luck and welcome to the SNK universe!

Heres some pics of Candy cabs , thanks to Briggs , http://www.hardmvs.com/ look under MVS photos ,

And heres some on Ebay right now , http://search .ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&query=neo+arcade&ht=1&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&BasicSearch=

Read the description because some don't come with the Neo Geo MVS Monther board which you will need to play Neo Games in it ,

Also how much are the paper inserts you put at the top of the machine for each game you get so you can see the selection?

Why is the neo geo arcade cabinet that can play more than one game cheaper than the new one game arcade machines such as 3d fighters, etc?

This is for 2 reasons IMO 1) 2d games are going out of style in favor of 3d games. 2) SNK went out of business. Correct me if im wrong, which I prolly am.
