Each one is good in it's own special way;

MVS Owners would say "MVS is better because the games are plentiful and inexpensive."

AES Owners would say "AES is better because you can take it anywhere with you and they come in nice packaging."

MVS Owners would say "MVS is better because the only way to really play is in a cabinet and it looks 10x better than the AES even with the S-Video Mod"

AES Owners would point out "True but you can get an RGB cable for the AES"

MVS Owners would retort "Yeah, but good luck finding one. And when you do you can't use it on a regular TV."

AES Owners would say "Whatever, just buy an XRGB and use your computer monitor"

MVS Owners would say "And spend another $250+?? So what, you're going to spend $300 on the system, $200 on a game and another $250 just to play them so it'll look exactly like it would on a cab? Why not just get a cab for half of that?"

AES Owners would then say "BECAUSE WE'RE NOT POOR YOU ASSHOLES! MVS Cabs are for people who can't afford to own a Neo•Geo. It's a sloppy half-assed solution".

MVS Owners would then comment "HERE WE GO AGAIN! Why is it always about the money with you people? It's you fucking collectors that are ruining this hobby for everyone! They're video games, not long term investments. And who the fuck are you to make judgements about us? Do you know how much time and effort you have to invest into a cabinet? It actually requires intellegence and skill to maintain a cabinet. What'd you do? Pay !Arcade! to mod your ssytem for you? Idiot."

AES Owners would say "I may be an idiot but at least I can spell "system", fag. DIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!"

Neo Geo Pocket Color Owners would say "Get neither, get at NGPC! You can own the whole library for a fraction of what you'd pay for the AES and MVS games, and their great!"

AES Owners "Oh no, not these assholes again. Take your piece-of-shit wanna be GameBoy and shove it up your ass!!!!!!!!"

MVS Owners "So I guess these guys are wastes too huh? Jesus, you AES guys act like you OWN SNK and the entire fuckign hobby. Get over yourselves"

NGPC Owners "For real, you guys blow"

MVS Owners "Shut up you fuctard. I don't need you to agree with me."

NeoGeoCD Owner "You konw the CD system is a cost effective way to play all of the great SNK games"

NGPC "Yeah except the load times BLOW"

CD "Not on the CDZ faayg"

Hyper64 Owners "Hey guys"

Everyone else "Fuck off!!! Look at me! My system has 4 games!!!"

Hyper64 Owners "My mom says I'm cool"

......

and so on forever and ever and ever until the end of fucking time.

*p.s. I'm looking for a H64. I hear the games are pretty cool.

lol, thats an excellent and funny post (probably 100% true too :D )

Anyways, imo, MVS is better - mainly cos it is cheaper and I enjoy having the "arcade feeling" at home.

well i think the mvs route is good for me, because i'm poor :( lol but beacause i'm using it with a Supergun, and i can play more than just neo titles, the only reason i bought a Supergun was for all the Street fighter 2's, Super Street Fighter 2 the new challengers, ahhhhh what a game, you cant beat playing the arcade version, basicly there a load of shit!! on the console conversions.

DAMN, Blaine, that was FUNNY!

To answer the question though, let me first say I have a number of both home carts and MVS carts. MVS I play on a cab and NGH I play on a home system. I play my cab about 10 times as much as my home system. I like how clean the video is and I just like the fact that I am playing on a dedicated arcade machine. Just part of t he experience for me.

The cheap carts also rock, there is no doubt about that. If I had to choose one and only one, MVS all the way.

And BTW, I have a Hyper 64 and the four games Blaine referrenced as well as quite a stack of NGPC stuff. I won't tell any of teh above mentioned to fuck off. :D

MVS because it's the source of the neo world. If I remember well, MVS was released first and after came the AES. So it's the purest form of NEO GEO stuff.

YES you can get everything on ebay at your own risk.

I bought my cabnet local so i dont know how much they run online.

I get some of my games from MDGAMES on ebay.
http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewListedItems&userid=mdgamesales@aol.com&include=0&since=-1&sort=2&rows=25

MDGAMES also sells MVS Boards.

Yup thats a 1-Slot MVS Board. It plugs into the Jamma Harnes in your cab.

The Cabnet is the same one i own only mine is the 29" Model. Yes its a very good cabnet and the one i would recomend all the way. If you get that cabnet you should get a 4-Slot board which it is set up for.

Nope,
All you have 2DO is connect the Jamma Harness and the Memory Card cords to the board and your set.

It only takes 5min to install a board.
