I disagree. Future releases, other than SS5 and Garou 2 (which would be INCREDIBLE!!) aren't all that exciting. I can already tell you that NitD would be a joke to release on home cart, because I own the MVS cart. It doesn't have enough variety, challenge, and length to cut it. Sengoku 3, from what I've heard, is just fair.
Re-releases that would do well include: Shock Troopers (WHY oh WHY didn't they release this on home cart?!?!), Super Dodge Ball, Garou, Metal Slug, Pulstar, Blazing Star, Kizuna Encounter. Which ones of those would I buy? All of them. And yes, I'd buy the new releases too, but I can tell you that the list above would blow away mediocre titles like NitD and Sengoku 3.
I agree doubly. Just because something's new does
NOT in any way mean it's worth purchasing.
I never played Snow Bros. so NitD was really nice for me, but I would not spend $268 on it. No way. And Sengoku 3? I felt like crying the very first time I saw the video. I thought 'how could they, at this stage of the game, release such a piece of shit?' It looks pretty, sure, but is this system about graphics? This is not Sengoku 3 as in a sequel to Sengoku 2, this is a game that plays differently, in a very boring way, and if you've listened to reports, just about everyone seems to think it's a lacklustre title. Now this
would be a game to "sit on the shelf to be stared at."
Any of the above-mentioned (quoted) games would do MUCH, MUCH better on re-release because they were never released or were in such small quantities that most will never see them. Of all the scarce NG games those largely constitute the cream of the crop. I mean, we
know they're worth the standard asking price of $268, they're more than worth it, so why overlook their quality, and what for many is probably their first real chance at owning them, simply because they are "old"?
Apart from what's mentioned above, I myself would jump at another chance for Ragnagard or World Heroes Perfect. Ninja Master's & Art of Fighting 3 I'd love to see, I would kill for Pop 'n Bounce, and most of all: Neo BomberMan!!! With a link-up feature for 4-player vs mode! Dream on, I know..
A cartridge Samurai RPG would be great, but maybe not for $270 if it's all in Japanese, unless a cartridge version would be simpler for the emu folk to hack and translate.
edit: added "standard" and "$268" to one sentence.
