For Fun I guess
Well actually no they are there to show you your ability or your capability or your level of fighting against computer opponent.
It increases or decreases after every fight and is saved as high scores in the end of the game and you can write a three lettered name in front of it.
You can increase it gradually by killing your computer opponent with your full life (Perfect) i.e. your power guage does not show any damage taken by you.
This is a fast technique as fast as you finish your game against your computer opponent and with more life left you, and the more devastating combos you perform except for the counter mode combos or armor mode combos you get high points .
