I know this may be a odd question,
but not all baggies are created the same.

Anybody know how many kinds of official baggy are there for the Neo manual,

Many people consider plastic baggy a component of a complete aes cart, and are valued by many collectores.

I have come accross many kinds and which one are offical and which one are homebrew.

I got a lot of my older US releases new many years ago,and the manual came in all sorts of bagies.

It looks like SNK USA just used whatever bags they had laying around.
Some are really oversized

I have seen only 3:

The regular sized one, for the big manuals
A smaller version of that, but for the little manuals
and a sort of harder version of the one for smaller manuals, that had a little sticker thing to keep it folded and closed.

Don't know if any of the above are official or not, but just what I've come a cross.

OH for the love of christ! It's only a piece of plastic for a manual. It didn't have any markings on it. I wonder how many numbnuts actually try and attest some sort of value to those things?

And better yet, how do you tell if a baggie's authentic? For all we know, NGF could be selling home carts with sawed-off ziplocs and saving the authentic baggies for a rainy day. But anyway, in order to answer the homebrew quesion, let me ask this first... do we know that for a given release (let's say KOF 98 JP) whether every baggie in the release was the same dimensions, or whether baggies can differ within a release?

If there was consistency across a release, you could at least start by saying that any KOF 98 JP with a baggie that isn't x by y is a blantant forgery... in which case you have been freaked, or rather, ziplocked.

I'm somewhat of a collector, but I wouldn't care in the least of my baggie was a "fake". It's plastic any way you look at it. I don't know though, there might be real hardcore collectors that want pure, authentic SNK baggies out there

There are doggy baggies (for take away), spew baggies (for airsickness), hoover baggies (for the vaccuum cleaner), carpet baggies (to be avoided), nose baggies (for horses), hand baggies (for ladies), air baggies (for car crashes), shopping baggies (for groceries), sports baggies (for your tennis racket), cash baggies (for the bank), ball baggies (for your gonads), mail baggies (for the postie).

The list goes on.

You can even get a plastic baggie to put your NeoGeo stuff in.
You guys have too much time on your hands :)

Dont forget about the Brown Baggy, that your girlfriend put over your face so she can fantasize that your Fabio, j/k ;)

Some people are anal about these things, like myself, or why would some seller advertise, Baggy included.

Furthermore, why is some snk baggy longer than others, for example, KOF 1999 baggy is longer than kof 1998 baggy, no consistancy at all.

Actually I think I would prefer ziplock baggies. Then you could zip your manual up and keep it completly minty fresh!!!!! That would be what I would want if I collected AES carts that is but since I'm concentrating on MVS I could care less about baggies.

Well I would comment in a constructive manner but considering the topic idea of Manual Baggies is well....Extreme.

Who gives a shit about a piece of plastic other than to protect your manual from getting damage?

While I can see how some people may view baggies as nothing more than little pieces of plastic, the fact remains that brand-new carts come with this accessory. Similarly, older game cartridges came with epilepsy cards and newer game cartridges came with gold warning stickers. All of these items are part of an original item and constitute what may be considered a complete item.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

Anyone who truly cares about a fucking plastic baggie should have one rammed down their throat so they can suffocate on it.

You people embarrass me, you really do.

Hey Shino - I know how you feel. For me no cart is complete without its original authentic plastic baggy - and all of my carts are. :) :) :)

So far, I`ve encountered 3 different types of baggies:

1. The ones that hold the big manual till Samurai Shodown 2
2. The ones for the smaller manuals - although the may vary a little in size you can always feel an authentic SNK baggie. For instance, the Arcade baggies that came with Strikers can be clearly distinguished from an SNK baggie. You can always tell - it`s minor but it`s important (to me and many others).
3. The very long baggie that came with KoF 2000.

Yes, we`re crazy and I like it!
