Samurai Showdown 4

Is Samurai Showdown 4 any good? I would go the the arcade and check myysely, but there are NONE in the middle of nowhere Nebraska.

I love it. It's one of my favorite MVS games. Challenging plus many characters. Actually, all the Samurai Showdown games are good!

I highly recommend it, it's one of my all time favourite fighting game(s). Wicked character design, storyline, playability is alright.

Nope. Get Last Blade 2 or Samurai 2 if you want a weapons fighter on the MVS. SS4 is my least liked sword fighting game next to Kabuki Klash.

Personally I would be happy with only Kizuna, Ninja Masters and Sam Sho 3.

I say SS2 is the best, but SS4 is close behind. Not counting Evil Wasabi, I haven't heard many that don't love SS4.

SS4 IS the best part of the series in case of Gameplay! Most fighters are balanced in powers!

In SS2 you can just use Ukyo and you will win all matches for sure!

pick a friend who's good with Gaira (either mode), make him play against your Shura Sogetsu. Report tomorrow on your win streak.

The gameplay is watered down. The palettes are watered down, and the backgrounds are uninspired.

Gadddaaammit! Why don't you all get it. Samurai Shodown 4 was made by Dataeast!

I can win all of SS4 with Ukyo too, what's the point. My best time on level 4 was 6 minutes and 14 seconds. It's not like SS4 was the game that corrected all the mistakes. It merely compounded on them.

That´s not what I meant.

i.E. in SS2 you choose any char you want and I choose Ukyo and I´ll win for sure. He has an unbeatable combo!

In SS4 he is not that unfair. I think that´s why they skipped his phoenix during his most versatile special!

The only think i don´t like in SS4 are these "blinking-lifebars."

You probably didn't see enough action - Ukyo is very beatable. I can kill most any Ukyo player using Haohmaru in 2 combos. Using Gen-An/Nicotine I'd still be able to infinite an Ukyo player given that I can close the gap a little. Even Galford stands a damn good chance. Ukyo is great for/against scrubs, but skill can still win a match, evne in a game as skewed as SS2.

Not if you´re cornered with no opion to go! If I get you cornered with Ukyo I´ll win for sure! And I did not play against newbies!

If Ukyo "corners an opponent" what would you do?

Afterimage me to death? Do you know what happens when you afterimage a cornered opponent? A seasoned SS2 Ukyo user knows better.

Do you Tsubame geishi me? How does that insure a victory? If I was using Seiger i'd poke you to death with df+BC, definitely the reich stuff against a projectile abuser - quick, and as a poking attack, fucking incredible. Haohmaru is similar, but who know - you wouldn't get an easy win.

Now go play the best Gaira player using Sogetsu and tell me about your easy win. <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" />

get it. EW, the stages are great atleast most of them. i agree they aren't cmpletely origional bust still great.

3 is just superior

its the only sam game id love to play versus

the high damage level actually adds to the gameplay

cos you need to know EXACTLY when to attack or you're dead meat

the BGS are about 200 times better

the game is more inspired

its got a darker feel to it

and the art is simply AMAZING

its just better than 4

4 is just a lazy sequel,
same goes for rb2 and all that shit people usually love

bah

It really is the best versus game in the series! What really killed versus for SS4, kind of a nail in the coffin so to speak, was the seppuku move.
