Horrible Experience

I go to my room, and I say "I'm going to play some neogeo".
Lalalaaaa, I grab my KOF2000 cart and insert it on my neo.
I turn my neo on, my speakers click (as usual), but no screen comes on.

I check the AC adapter, check everything, tried multiple carts to no avail.

I insert my kof95 in and turn it on and I decided to wait a little longer... no picture, but I got sound! wahey! My neo isn't "THAT" busted I thought... then I thought "wtf, I'll mess with this rca cable" -

To my surprise, the #&*@(&@#( A/V lead went bad, the video cable is kinda loose on the inside or something...

gah, I almost had a heart attack, I thought my neogeo had died!

man, i'd probably kick my door away if my neo went bad :-D

Anyone had anything like this happen to them before?
I'd love to hear some more stories.

This isn't as bad but I managed to get an import of Metal Slug X for my PSX - sealed for $10 (not sure what the price is but I think it's a deal?). Anyway, I get home - place my moded PSX bag on my bed - as a turn to put other stuff away - my foot snags a sheet. My PSX hits the floor and I hear a "crack and snap". When I open the bag my brand new/unopened/sealed/minty Metal Slug X case shattered into pieces...my reaction...ffffffuuuuuuccccckkkkkkk...nnnnnnnnooooooooo...sniff <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

I once broke my 2 front teeth on a metal chair (very square one...) after the power went out... I was trying to grab something on the floor, checked with my hands that nothing was in my way, them BAM! (2 cm away and i would have been safe...)

that was an horible experience, so if something like a broken neogeo happen to me one day, i'll still have this experience to remind me that it always could be worse...

Nobody notices my teeth were partly rebuilt tho... But it sucked massively when i broke them. Man was i lucky to have my friend helping me to find a dentist at 8-9pm on a wednesday...
