I just got Blazing Star through a trade today (Briggs--great guy!) Anyhow, it's wonderful! It looked pretty interesting and I heard it was a great game. But I NEVER imagined it was that good! The backgrounds are really beautiful and game play is nice and quick! So what other shooters are on par with Blazing Star? And since I've played this, would Twinkle Star Sprites be worth spending the money on?

I'm totally in awe right now! I don't want to go back to class. This could be bad!

I like Aero Fighters/Sonic Wing, both cool games! Different enough from Blazing Star to warant purchase...

Oh, and don't collect the angel bonuses...avoid all! Who's your fave chara at the moment? I like Pepolos! It makes the game harder, but I just like the pink...

I'd say just stick with Blazing Star. If you really like it, then like me, you might not enjoy Pulstar or any other shooter nearly as much. Like for me, I had Last Resort for a while and love it, but when I got BS, LR was unplayable.

Stricker 1945 + is a really good shot!
last resort too and pulstar!
Ho, and also Alpha mission 2 (aso 2) maybe even better than all the other shoots...
and view point too ;) lol

About blazing star, when I bought it when it has just released, I found the graphics not so good because of the colors... Still today I don't find blazing star so nice to see.. I prefer last resort...

Recommend Pulstar of course since its the "prequel" title, unless you've already played it. Slower paced, but fairly solid on the gameplay and a great challenge. Strikers 1945 is cool too. Viewpoint, and Last Resort are all good. Great Challenging games. Love 'em.

There are two reasons why I like Blazing Star:

1) It's the best shooter for the NEO, IMHO.
2) The similarities between Kaoru Yamazaki (short-haired green-haired girl) and Ryoko Subaru (from Nadesico) are shocking. Don't believe me? Take a look at the pics below:

(Note: Ryoko's the girl with the short, green hair).

Not as much as Rouri (? the girl with the piggy tails) and the pink shooter (I think that's the one) Or her and Hotaru (?) from Mark of the Wolves.

I had a nice copy of Blazing Star, but I have to admit I did not take to it. I played it a bit and then put it on the shelf. Then I bought Pulstar and liked it much better. A few months later I worked out a deal with Achika for a trade and sent her Blazing Star. Now it seems like every thread I read somebody mentions how great BS is.

*sigh*

I just bought another one off eBay to give it a second try.

How's that Hyper Neo board? Sorry, no trade backs! But I am really happy that I got this now. I have to admit, I chose it without knowing anything about it. <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool]" />

I prefer jump n shoot!

If you like any of the R-Type series' games, you ought to get Pulstar as well. If you don't like R-Type, then skip it.

Definitely get Viewpoint if you don't have it yet. If you've had a bad experience with the lameass PS version, don't let that put you off from the Neo one.

Blazing Star is the best shmup I've seen on Neo- Pulstar & Viewpoint are close.

Completely Agree. The PSX version doesn't do the original cart justice and is a piss-poor port & substitute over the NG version. If you haven't tried the original, be sure to give it a full chance.

Hey...I bet you're just a Pulstar fan! No problem with that, they are both very good shooters...
