I agree!

I am totally a stick man, for fighters, shooters, puzzlers. Out of all the sticks I've used over the years, the original Neo stick is still my favorite.

Since I got a Neo Geo CD before an AES I was playing with the pads first. I can safely say once you're using the old style sticks it's like a whole 'nother world. :) I don't know what it is about it, it's the only home arcade stick I've ever liked.

I really don't like the old-style stick, and I've never used the new one. The buttons on the old style are too vertical to allow for complete coverage. They should have been layed out next to each other, instead of one on top of the other. I end up covering the strong attack buttons, and have to totally move my whole hand for some combos. Very bad design, IMO, but in fairness it was made way before the Neo fighters.

Best joystick I've used to date would either be the Dreamcast Arcade Stick or the Namco Arcade Stick...

I don't particularly like either Neo stick, but the control pad is tops! :)

The Neo stick would be the greatest if it weren't for these two things:

-the buttons stink. They miss out on that whole "bounce back up" principle.

-the stick feels like it's about to break half the time

I remember when I first got the home system. I didn't know a whole lot about it, I just wanted SS2. When it arrived and I'll pulled it out of the packaging I was like "What the hell's this?? Joysticks!!??" It totally blew me away cause I was so used to home consoles coming with pads. I really hadn't played very much at all with joysticks, except in the arcade and it took a long while to get used to.

The Neo taught me to use a joystick, and use it well *sniff*. I like the fact that it came with the sticks, but even then I thought they were awfully flimsy for the amount of cash I put down for the system :( .

I got an MAS stick not too long after that, and that is a great stick. I got the one with turbo switches and slow motion! I've heard that their quality isn't that great now, but the one I've got is a very well-made piece of machinery.

Personally, I've never been able to stand joysticks. But then again, I've never been much of an arcade player either. 100% of my gaming time goes to home consoles with their controllers/joypads. I'm just thankful we have a person like Jeff Kurtz in the community who modded my 6 button PC pad to work with my AES. He literally saved my can by doing that modification.

I ususally use the CD pad for my neo, it's just what I'm used to using. But as far as good sticks go, the original Neo Geo arcade stick is among the best ever made.

Another great, and in my opinion better than the neo stick is this Ascii stick. As a matter of fact I would go so far to say these are the BEST home arcade sticks ever made. I first was able to use one yesterday, and man is it PERFECT!

I think this is the exact same stick as the limited edition Capcom VS SNK 2 sticks..

Good luck finding the Capcom VS SNK ones though. They have been out of stpck everywhere for a very long time.
