Have any of you updated your MVS cabinet monitor?

Greetings,
By any chance have any of you upgraded your stock cabinet monitor to a superior one? The reason I ask this question is that I recently game across a neo candy cabinet that featured a little 10" LCD screen above the normal monitor, and I was shocked by how cool it looked. By any chance do any of you know if they manufacture 25" or 29" LCD cabinet monitors? If so, do you know if they are compatible with the MVS setup?

So did it look as sexy as the screenshots here at neo-geo?

I married my cab at the church of Elvis. Later that night we went at it till the sun came up.

There are open-frame lcds that large, but I really wouldn't go for one of those, LCDs typically don't do too well in displaying a non-native resolution image, and generally suffer from afterglow (blurring when objects move quickly) due to poor pixel response times.

What you should look for is a open-frame flat-screen crt. It will be much nicer for your games, they're hard to find, but I believe a couple korean monitor manufacturers put them out. I'll see if I can dig up the links and post them here or send a few by pm.

-EDIT-
Bam! you would need a upscan convertor, and a large cab to fit it, but that would suit your needs for massive screens with obscene clarity. I know there are a few 15khz displays out there too, I've seen them in catalogs at work. I'll see what else I can find wink

Thanks for the info Talen! Now all I need to do is come up with an extra $1099 to invest in a liability...
