Soccer games

I do not have a soccer game in my MVS collection.

Whats recommended.

Played soccer brawl on emu, its OK (bit like 2020 in baseball terms)

Any advice welcome.

All Sidekicks except 4 ( Ultimate 11 ).

Well, you've got a pretty wide choice on mvs, as there are a few footie titles that never made it to aes.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend Super Sidekicks 2, or (just for the sheers number of teams to choose from) Neo-Geo Cup '98. NG Cup '98 is like an update of SSK 3, but doesn't do anything better than SSK2.

Ultimate 11 isn't very good, and titles like Goal! Goal! Goal!; Pleasure Goal, and Tecmo World Soccer I've never played... they don't look too hot tho...

Super Sidekicks 2 I'd say. Used to have it in my local, which was nice.

Definately Super Sidekicks 3 has everything 1 + 2 have (incuding the first person shots) plus the nicer graphics!!

Well I would like to break a spear (I do not know if this could be said in English) for Ultimate 11,. I always read that this game was so bad compared with the rest of the series. Well, yesterday I received a Ultimate eleven Minty Kit (thanks goes to FTL), and I was gladly surprised, I played Goal x 3 and all the Sidekicks but 3, and Ultimate 11 is along with Sidekicks 1 the best in my humble opinion, It has better animation and graphics than the others, and I think it plays the same.

“Ttooddddyy”, if you want a funny simple soccer game with good graphics and soung go for the first sidekicks, much better than goal x 3, any other sidekicks will be fine too. And, as Tarma said, go for NG Cup’98 before SD 2 and 3 as it is the same with more teams

I disagree. SSK2 is definitely different to 3 or NGC98. Passing, ball acceptance, kick ranges and specially the opponent's AI is different to any SSK game, it's much rougher and the CPU tends to foul more than in any other part.

SSK3/NGC98 offer a much smoother gamplay with a refined engine, you can do some pretty quick passing all over the field, which is cool if you like the pass-pass-pass-45-degree-angle-goal kick style of footie playing (like in Kick Off). It gives the player more freedom where to shoot, run or pass to.

I'd get Neo Geo Cup 98. NGC 98 has cool gameplay, nice graphics, and the most teams of the whole series. It's also quite inexpensive, but that shouldn't be a prob on MVS anyway.
