OK I like the series, not love, but like. I own 1 and 2 for my AES.

Should I get 3 or should I not?

I don't think I want to spend the bucks 4 costs and am not sure what to do...

Please let me know what you think.

Its an awesome game. I was lucky and found a brand new copy dirt cheap. Defintely get it because it really isn't that expensive of a game and its definately worth the cash.

The review on this site and NeoGeoforLife say it feels rushed and unpolished... is it that their opinion so to speak or do you see that also?

SS3 is TEN MILLION times better than ANY of the newer releases out there.

Bryan,

But is that REALLY saying much?

Still, I think I'll pick it up anyway... I can get i for $60 in near mint condition.

The characters in this game deal out massive damage, and the BG's are very dark and ominous... so it's a pretty realistic interpretation of what would happen if a bunch of crazed samurai decided to try to kill each other.

I wouldn't say it feels "rushed', but definitely a lot more loose than the previous 2 games. Excellent Neo gaming at it's best, don't hesitate to pick it up.

Youshould get it, it's a good game with a decent character selection, lots of blood and a last boss that's a pian in the ass at first.

Why are you thinking about picking up the 3rd Part of this amazing Series, if you can get SS4!!! It´s the highlight of the Series, believe me... :)

Can't offer much help as I've never played it, but I love SS1 and SS2. Just purchased SS3 on ebay today for $75. Was planning on skipping 3 and going straight to SS4, but SS3 was at a decent price so what the hell wink

3 is not AS good of a game as 2 and 4 or even 1 for that matter imho. But still it's a good game and worth owning if you are a big enough fan of the series. You say you like it but not love. I'd suggest saving up the extra dough and getting 4. It's definitely worth it because as previously stated it is the pinnacle of the series.

Better, cheaper, stronger, more attractive than 4.

Not as much charm as 2. Worth every red cent. If you want a good challenge, get it.

It is alright game, but not as good as Samurai Shodown 4. It's a bit hard, tho.

I used to think that too until I really started playing both games. I still dig SS4 for Kazuki and Sogetsu, but SS3 plays better.

Am I the only one who hates the very existence of Kazuki and Sogetsu. I dont know why they are liked so well.

Rimiruru is equally as horrible. Nakururu's excellence makes up for it.

Basara rules though.

Why wasnt Genjuro's frog in SS3 and 4???

Probably :D I like Kazuki. I think he has style, and I'll admit I was more drawn at first to SS4 for those 2 characters. Why do you hate them? I think their design is pretty cool.

The brothers are overrated...I hate their storyline too! I can really do without them in SS3 meaning,I don't miss them.
Rimiru wearing her bonnet and playing the role of Nakaruru's lil' sis was a bad idea as well..
Rimiruru is prolly the only thing I don't like about SSIII and that's nothing too serious

ah yes, that was a terrible oversight!! The messenger running by tossing food & bombs in was another.

SS3 takes brains, its one of my favorite neo games. I dont need to argue this. People who know me, know I love this game.

Its better then 4, no 14 hit edit crap.
There are turn around infinites like crazy in ss3. All you need to do to avoid em is duck on a swap.
SS3 has my favorite version of Ukyo.

Also, in 4 Ukyo is super fast. Hes always MEGA.

Yes buy it up.......SS3 is one of the best games out there. I like the whole SS series and its probably one of my favourite games. SS4 is awesome if you get 1,2,3 you have to get 4. Thats the way it is..... :)

I think Samurai Shodown 3 is a little bit slow, but, Samurai Shodown 4 fixed those problems.
