I know, I know, the bad customer service and whatnot. But what if you just said you wanted to do COD. They say that when UPS delievers item you pay them with money order or cashiers check. What I was thinking is that if I ordered something from them through COD and if item ACTUALLY comes, I would open it before handing check or money order and test it to see if it works. (I hope the UPS drivers let you do it) Do you guys think this is a safer way to order from them?

That's the only way I ever ordered from them, but believe it or not, they're actually able to bend you over with that too. These pricks have thought of everything.

What I know of COD is that most of the time you cannot open the package after paying it (at least here it is) so maybe your idea would backfire the moment the ups guy is at the door :)

yes. Back when the DC came out, I bought one from them and it came in good speed, etc.

I guess it must be tough to fuck that one up. A launch system and all.

But COD did work out.

I want to order from them but for some reason I fell that I'll get ripped off, dont know how but I feel it. What I want to order is a neo geo memory card. What do you guys think I should do? should I try the COD and see how it turns out or forget about ever ordering from them?

I don't see how you could get screwed over on a memory card paid for with cod. But who knows what buy rite has up their sleeve. They are apparently con artist. So I'd still try to find one somewhere else. If you can't then go for it I guess.

can someone please explain exactly what it is that makes buyrite so scandelous? I ordered KoF 2001 on dreamcast from them, and said I would pay with paypal. a message popped up and said they would send me an email saying when to send the payment. I waited and I waited, finally the email came like a week and a half later. at that point, I decided not to buy it from them. If it took them that long to send an email, who knows how long it would take to send the game???

has anybody outrite not received their order from them, do they find ways to overcharge people? or are they just really lax about the way they opperate?

I ordered the Gamecube Import disk (Freeloader) from them on the same day I ordered Soul Calibur 2 from Play-asia.com, needless to say that soul calibur 2 got there extremely fast in perfect shape while my freeloader disc came with NO packing materials and the disc had come loose during shipping and got really scratched up. I'm surprised it didn't break. Also it took another 2 weeks to get my disc after I got soul calibur 2. So avoid them at all costs!

Currently I am waiting for 2 sega saturn control pads. I used C.O.D. The online part said it would take about 4 buisness days, so on the next available buisness day get your M.O. or Cashiers Check, so you are ready for the UPS driver. I ordered the controllers on July 3rd!!!!!!! Thanks God I did not pay for this item. I called buy-rite and they said they had internet problems and it finnally shipped yesterday!!!!! Because of this transaction, I will never deal with buy-rite again. Also, Shawn from neostore.com informed me that on e-bay 'gamebuyers'='buy-rite', they are the SAME , so everyone stay away. Gamebuyers is selling jap aes Matrimelee for $189 on e-bay(buy-it-now), sounds bull sh@t to me, I guess that price is well well below cost(according to shawn). So heads up everyone!!!!

I ordered from them one time. I can't remember what it was I ordered (Import SMS maybe) but they were very unresponsive to e-mails and very slow to ship. I did get the item eventually but vowed to never do business with them again, there's plenty other reputable dealers online.

As for the COD...you can't open the package before you pay for it. You must pay before they give it to you.

Does Buy-Rite go by any other names? I see they are based in NC but also have an HQ in Florida?? I recently bought 2 mvs titles off Ebay from a company based in Fla and have yet to receive it...

The only other alias that I've heard is Gamebuyers. That info was given to me by Shawn

If you order from Buyrite, you are helping to support a horrible business that has ripped off or poorly handled hundreds of customers. The best way to put these guys out of business is to stop buying from them period. Buyrite blows, avoid!!! Use Videogamedepot or NCSX instead and give your money to a reputable company.

Excellent point. NCSX is very reliable. I recommend them as well.

I ordered some stuff from Buy-Rite. A Blazing Star that I had no problems with; order transaction or merchandise.
but then...
Since they gained my trust I thought I'd order two more games.
Apparently they didn't have them in stock, but they wouldn't just come out and tell me that.
If they would have said "hey, we don't have it in stock, but we'll let you know when we do" I wouldn't mind.
After a month I started making calls and placing e-mails and "customer inquiries" (the e-mails and customer inquiries were ignored).
They lied to me twice saying it would ship such and such day. After two and a half months I called to CANCEL my order...
I waited to see the funds transferred back into my account.
A week passed so I called again.
The woman who answered told me it would take up to 30 days to charge the payment back to my account.
WTF
At anyrate, I was looking forward to getting my money back so I could order elsewhere.
Another week passed, and I came home one day to find both packages sitting on my dresser.
A working Ganryu and a Pulstar with fuxed sound and a label designed in notepad and cut from typing paper, glued to it.
I haven't opened either of the actual cart cases (heaven forbid I void that Buy-Rite warranty - *sarcasm).
The Pulstar is in one of those off-white cases with big letter SNK formed in the side (rental case?).
Is it normal for a Ganryu to have two different colors of boards or is it a sign of a bootleg cart?
Sorry if I'm getting off topic.

Best advice: Do not buy from Buy-"Rite".
Fortunately, I have been able to get a great working Pulstar from the neostore.

I wouldn't buy anything from them, if I were you. I never personally dealt with Buy-Rite, but, I heard they're not bout con artists. If you want to buy Memory card for the Neo, you should look on these forums and find yourself a trustworthy seller.
