metal slug X on 1 credit

so come on then who can complete metal slug X on MVS default settings on one credit.

i can get to level 5 without losing a live but then i get creamed.(been playing for 2 weeks)

Dunno, but i just got back from the arcade where i got to level 2 boss on 1 credit while drunk on MS 1.

Which is a record for me, i have hardly played it.

I die a lot in mission 5 as well.
I can also get to mission 5 on one life, but then
I start dying. I can finish the whole game using
three credits, that's my best.

im real impressed with this one:

im not keen on the PSX version,sold mine and got the MVS version.

oh well looks like i need some practice to be as good as Atrophyed....

The really hard part is the very beginning of the stage. Once you don't die on the start the rest is piece of cake.

The main trick is to know well the pattern of the rocket lanchers soldiers.

Saving grenades is also very helpfull for the Aliens part. A lot of people don't know, but there's a hostage that gives you a Lasergun on the Alien part. Mostly all the time they set the hostage free without realising that ( he walks away ). It's a very BIG HELP on that part of the stage.

Last Boss ? hang on a little on the first phase and then... SLUG PARTY ! Easy killings !

Memory cards are usefull !

Set the last stage and learn the patterns before trying to do it "all-in-once" .

That's what I did a way back. Now I have to be happy with the MVS version or just the emu only. annoyed

I am almost near 4million.
The key to all this scoring is to be able
get all the damn 30k and 50k gems that are hiding
around the missions. Some of them are random too.
Also stabbing soldiers gets you more points,
get the slugs and all your POW's at the end of
each mission is also a big key to a great score.

i can get about 2500000 at the mo.

what i really want to do is clear the game on one credit.

but having the mvs version with no memery card option i have to start from the begining everytime (nevermind) crying

Yeah, we got it on a Mega Lo 50 cab 2 months ago, the first Neo game here since Fatal Fury 2 :o

Seems I am one of many. I can get most of the way through Mission 5 before my 1 credit is up. I don't own the game so I never get much practice and those wretched Jp MVS machines never had memory card slots, in addition to my always forgetting where most the secrets lie on the final two missions.
