First off I'd like to thank Phoenix Down and Lashujin for making the trip. It's not that often that I get the chance to spend a day playing Neo games with fellow Neo fans. We found out that PD is really good at KOF (I think I managed to pull out 1 match in '98, but other than that it was total ownage on me and Lashujin). I discovered the joys of a lot of Neo games that I had never had the chance to play such as Metal Slug 3 (flat out amazing, truly a work of art), Twinkle Star Sprites (This game altered forever my perceptions of reality), Money Puzzle Exchanger (I can't even begin to describe it, a surreal experience to be sure), WIndjammers (I so want this to be a real sport) and finally Neo Turf Masters (Electronic Crack).

We gave my 6 slot cab a good workout with some Sam Sho and ROTD action (I actuall won many fights here) and a marathon MS3 session (it took almost 45 minutes to run the last level!!). Sat back and watched Lashujin do stuff on Magical Drop 3 that totally fucked with my head, it was unreal!

Glad you guys made it, and I hope ya had a good time. Hopefully we can get some more people in this December. 12/28/03 MICHAEL YAGAMI'S SEASON'S BEATINGS, you have been warned!

P.S. Lashujin dropped 3 straight to PD's Sports Team in '98, it was total ownage (I dorpped 1 to the sports team and that was enough for me, but Lashujin just kept going back for more). I did't think there was a Sports Team win screen for '98 until yestereday.

Me (left) getting owned hardcore by Phoenix Down (right) in KOF '02. As you can see by the expression on my face I've just given up all hope of scoring a win.

Myself and my friend Ryan (right) in the crushing grip of Twinkle Star Sprites Madness!!! Life will never be the same.

My friends Ryan and Ben discuss the pros and cons of fruit flavored drinks (bottom left) while Phoenix Down and I watch Lashujin (in the chair) do insane things in Magical Drop 3 (totally messed with my head). You can see my 6 slot cab in the background still smoldering from the Metal Slug 3 run.

Thanks for putting up with me for a day, had a fun time. I think the best part was watching Mike and his friend Ryan (I think that was his name) get carpal tunnel from playing Slug 3, and having to keep telling them that the last level is REALLY long. wink Also,I'm not getting too cocky on KoF since I figure I'll probably get owned by neojedi this weekend at Otakon. :D

Anyway, on with a few pics. They're at 1024x768 resolution so I figured I'd just add links to make it easier for page loads:

I wish I could get my lady friend to play Neo though

Honestly, great to hear you guys had such a great time and it looks like you did by the pics. Hopefully there will be some Neo gatherings in the Philly area when I'm back for school for the fall semester wink

Yeah, I really need to go to one of the Neo get togethers, but nobody down here really wants to do anything. At least haven't taken the time to organize.

Wow, a lot of great pics. Looks like it was a lot of fun.

Just about the only disadvantage to living over here is that I can never get to any Stateside Neo meetings.

BTW Mike, is that your new house? Nice!

That female would be my wife, Lori.
Actually, she was all for the party, and she pretty much kicked my ass at Money Puzzle Exchanger (Phoenix Down will verify that) and she handed out some pain in Twinkle Star Sprites. She really likes playing video games, believe it or not. She usually hijacks the PS1 and goes on Bust a Move binges and rocks Magical Drop 2 on the cab.

Yep, that's the new place. I swear we could fit our old apartment just in our new living room.

That would be me! Yeah I'm looking a little rough these days loco . Sometimes I wear this ww2 army field jacket around, and once I was walking through a department store and caught a glance of myself in the mirror and thought for a split second that I saw a homeless man walking through the store, but it was me.

It was cool to play games with you guys, I hope I can manage to get to another one of these things.
