Yeah Ive had trouble with my NEO CDZ in that it can't play any of the newer titles before they stopped making Neo CD games. I believe my system has a weak laser but not sure. Like I own these Neo CD games but they will not work with my system. My METAL SLUG 2 and SAMURAI SHODOWN 4 dont load. Both games work as I tried them at my friends house but my system doesnt recognize them. All of my other Neo CD games work perfectly. So, I dont know if I should get it fixed or not. Im just wondering on how expensive it will be to fix.

Maybe there's something wrong with the way those particular games that don't work were encoded. I had a similar problem with my copy of Super Spy and Last Resort back in '98, I sent the games in question back to VLM (a distributor) and got replacements and the replacements worked fine. I'd try lookin' into the games themselves for an affliction before spendin' the dough on fixing a system that might not have anything wrong with it.

Just my two cents...

I wouldn't buy a Neo Geo CD because they break down like Chevy Cavaliers unlike the Neo Geo home cart system, probably my home cart system that I bought is more than 10 years old, and it works fine.

I was just wondering because I own a Neo Geo CD and I've never had a problem with it but was considering a CDZ because it loads faster. I think I've heard too many bad things about it to shell out the money though.

I have never had a problem with mine. It was bought second hand. However I have not played much with it.

I have played SS4 and MS 2 without any problem, as well as many more games.

Well maybe the CDs may have a problem but Ill take a closer look at them both. The thing was that my friend had his own copy of SAMURAI SHODOWN 4 and still didnt work on my system. So, I bought myself a copy at the time and was thinking it must be his game. So once I recieved mine in the mail I tried it and it didnt work. Sometimes it brought up error message or just stopped spinning completely. I dont know what to do.....I was thinking of just selling it off but I dont know what Ill do yet.

Also my Neo CD is like no good......I played Joy Joy Kid the first level then it just froze up. Also sometimes it just didnt load at all. Nothing happens! My friend Zizzer from the forums here tried to fix it but no luck......oh well! At least I can play some Neo CD games on my CDZ that is. :)

Dang, now I don't know what's worse, that or the plaguestation. Seems like companies put these CD based systems together really cheap to save money.

I wouldnt say that, my 8+ year old system has been thrown, fallen off shelves/cuboards, spilt shit on kicked enough times.........never had a problem.
