I picked up one of those Intec 5.6 mobil displays that are designed to be used with the Gamecube. I wanted a mobil Neo Geo setup so I took the display and glued it to the Neo Geo system. I was not happy with the color difference and I could not find the Intec in black so I went ahead and painted the Neo Geo console to match. Here is the result:

Like it?

Well, I really did not paint the Neo Geo system nor did I glue the mobil display to the unit. I did find that the Intec does a pretty good job with the Neo Geo though. :)

Tiptonium, why don't you update your collection page? It would be neat to see all the new games that you converted in your collection. Also, can you give me a link to the site that paints Neo Geo system? I doubt I will get mine painted since I went to the trouble to mod it and all. I wouldn't want them damaging it.

Are you going to install a joy stick and some buttons firectly on the neo? That would be cool.

Also, is that screen viewable from a lower angle, or no? Looks somewhat akward.

That's double hardcore.

How'd you re-do the text on the case? It looks very tight.

2 Questions:

1. The Blue Neo is photochopped, right?
2. Is the Neo Geo LT real?

Thanks

If anyone is actually interested in doing something similiar to this, over at JROK's site, he has a mod shown for a GameVue LCD panel. This allows you to run straight RGB into the LCD. Skip that junky composite video input. You will just need to use a 12 volt power supply to power it. Might be useful for folks that would like to have something fairly portable to test arcade pcb's with.

Just wire it to a jamma harness and have a PSU with you and you are all set.

Might also be neat for some type of quasi portable MVS solution....hmmmm...

Well the Neo Geo LT is one thing, that is a moble MVS, and god damn is it ever sweet... I remember when I first saw that thing about 4 or 5 years ago, I thought I would cry! Now, I still wonder who owns it, and if it will ever make it to eBay someday.

As for the little LCD screen on a home system, that is a cool idea, but the Neo is so damn big it is still not very portable :) , still it would be cool in a Van or something on a long trip... diffently wouldn't stoe for air travel!!! Now you just need to make one of two things, either a Neo Geo DC adapter for the car (probably could find one at the shack that would work actually!) or a bitchin rechargable battery pack!

I have an extra Neo Geo board I have been meaning to put to use. I have an idea floating around in my head. All I need to do is find a decent 15+ inch LCD screen that wouldn't break the bank.
