Should I do this trade?

I know this is not Neo related merchandise but I respect the opinion of the people on this forum and would like a little help. I have someone who is wanting to trade me a Nintendo Gamecube and Gameboy Advance with 2 games for my Playstation 2 with 4 games. The games I have now are all older titles so the games issue is moot, but my question is do you all think I would be making a mistake if I did this trade? Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated in helping me decide.

from my understanding playstations 2 will be droping in price soon to either $249 or $199 (rumors possible) game cubes sell for $199 and GBA sell for $69. so it seems like a fair trade.

For me, it would be a very nice trade. Cause what I know is that GameCube has a lot of interesting games that you can play with friends, whereas PS2 games is usually meant for single players. I mean, I have PS2 now, but I don't really like it, and would consider getting a GameCube real soon.

GBA is also a very nice thing to play with. Many interesting games are developed for it, and will continue to do so. That's just my humble opinion!

There really is not that much out ther for the cube right now. I am really board with mine.
I wouldnt do it. Unless you have a DVD player besides the PS2. Then I might think about it though. I have 2 DVD players so its hard to tell.

Are you bored with the PS2? Do you watch DVDs on it? Would you rather have a Cube? If so, then trade. Right now your PS2 package is probably worth a little more but like some other guy said, a price drop is planned in the near future (or they will start selling them with the modem at the same price).

Id trade the PS2 man. It might not have that many good games now but trust me just wait a little. then there's gonna be metroid, mario, zelda. And you also get a gba. Id rather have a gc and gba with 2 games than a ps2 with 4.

Yeah go for it!
GC is a better machine, with decent games and it'll be going strong long after the average PS2 has turned up its toes!
And you're getting a GBA too!!!!!
What are you waiting for????

Hold the phone guys.

Let's not forget to ask ourselves these fundamental questions when trading, especially in a BIG trade such as this one.

1. Do you know the trader? Have you dealt with him before?

2. Is this on Gametz.com or just a verbal agreement outside of any website with a feedback function?

3. Does he want you to send first or would he send first?

Bottom line is, if he wants you to send first, I'd be very cautious. I learned my lesson the hard way... sometimes if a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is a farce.

Good luck deciding.

I'd say; hold on to the PS2. With all your might.
I don't know what age you are, but the GC is obviously aimed at younger players, with games like Smash Bros and Mario. On the PS2 you have games like Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2. (yes, I know it is coming to the GC too, but it was a PS2 premiere)

PS2 has way more support than GC from gamers and more importantly, developers. So I don't see the PS2 dying before GC or Shit-Box. This is the whole ps-one vs N64 discussion all over again. And I don't need to tell you who won, do I?

I am still hitting my head against the wall for trading my PS2 for a loaded DC. Stupid deal, even though the DC has better 2d graphics. I really miss Gran Turismo 3 though. That was the game I traded in a Neo Geo together with Metal Slug 3 for. (together with a PS2, off course)

Do what you want, but don't trade your PS2. If the guy wants to trade the PS against one of those extremely sexy 'Q' things, then it's another question....
