Dammit. USA only. We'll make it as long as the others.

Does anyone agree with the italians that sellers such as Kenny Boy, 16-bit, and others are contributing to higher and higher prices?

16 bit is not at all. He has great prices, kennyboy may be. 16 bit is a great seller and is just trying to make some money off a cool hobby

I don't deal with people online, but if anybody contributes to the jacking up of prices I hope their collection gets destroyed in a fire or something.

I currently have friends selling most of if not all of their collections to me so right now I don't have a need to deal online. But yah, prices are wack (I can understand why).

I think the european folk are contributing to higher and higher prices by paying higher and higher prices. Them and Tonk.

I think the problem is when they buy cheap carts on Yahoo Japan, and resell them at twice what they paid.

That´s ridiculous!

Take a look at ebay Germany!

Most Germans are not bidding that high anymore!

Maybe the French have no clue when it comes to prices!

I think 16-Bit aka Carlson is a great NEO seller. So far I have gotten all of my NEO stuff from him including my AES. His prices are very fair if you ask me and he is trustworthy.

I'm not saying he isn't a great seller. I'm just saying some of the bigger sellers on the scene get their stuff quite cheap from sources that are unavailiable to the average person. I'm no fool. I browse YahooJapan auctions. I know most of the prices in the US are quite different than those in the east. With a few noteable exceptions, most carts sell for so little comparatively, they might as well be given away.

However, in a sad trend, eastern sellers are figuring out that idiots over here are paying 800+ dollars for slug 2, and are steadily adjusting their prices. That can only mean one thing. Higher prices here.

I think its the price guide thats becoming a price hike contribution.
Its the sellers choice, the buyer makes the buying decision, so its two fold.

Hey DJ,

actually few italian members were stating that some sellers inflate prices of neogeo stuff.

But the real point was that neo carts are expensive even in japan.

As for laurent,Carlson, they have their prices and that's ok since they are not price jacker at all.

In particular,16 bit charges a fair markup and nothing wrong with it.

The maruko up to 2000$+ clearly marks that rare games are most wanted even by jap collectors.
Laurent and others were outbid,so it is plain.

Anyway, jap carts can be gotton in many ways.
US carts are more likely to be inflated by scarce numbers of production and high demand.
MS 2 US docet.

Charlie: who bought MS 2 for 1100+ USD??

I have to agree with this about eBay. It seems that is the source a lot of the times of price jacking, and not just NEO games, but many game systems as was said.

I think the problem is when they buy cheap carts on Yahoo Japan, and resell them at twice what they paid.

This is absolutely the main problem.

Honestly, put it into perspective, you buy something for a price, then charge twice that price for it.

That's a 100% profit. What other small business do you know of that mark up their products that much that you don't consider a rip off?

I think it's stupidity on the buyer's part almost more so than that of the seller. I mean for example, let's say $hawn or someone discovers a source of Euro Kizuna AES. A quantity so huge that the product is no longer considered rare/etc, BUT, begins to sell them for $2100 each. A lot of people here would piss on the forums about what a load of shit that is but more people than that would just buy it without question.

Why? Why is it that when people see things like this on Ebay and what not they just assume that oh, this is what the price is then instead of thinking hey, this is obscenely high?

I say we should flood the market with a lot of cheap games. This would lower the overall price of these games. Simple rule of Supply and Demand.

Here's the problem: Who's willing to sell Metal Slug 1 for $100?

yes.
but if you are less an asshole than the others you can buy directly from yahoo japan or in japan
it's easy to scream about prices of neo sellers.
less easy to take time to learn japanese, send international money orders to people 7000KM from the home etc...

The only problem being that most will not ship to the USA.
