Games are just as much if not more in Japanese shops. Go to Japan and see for youself, someone said they saw a MOTW's cart in a Japanese store for like 700 bucks, the real deals come from Yahoo Japan really, but unless you speak and read Japanese, have a bank account in Japan, or someone to bid for you, your screwed, most of the sellers there only accept payment by bank transfer in Japan (I've tried a number of times), and almost all of the auctions say overseas bidders are not welcomed.

I heard that some of the common games are cheap, the some of the newer games are cheap, but games like MS1 are still over $1000. I am going to Japan in May for 3 week I would like to know of any shops that are there. Thanks. :)

Hey Joe,
try the Shinjuku district in Tokyo.
I picked up my KOF 99 home cart there for roughly $80.
They had SuperSidekicks 3 for $50 also.
A few Neo games to be had in Japan. But even if you don't find any Neo stuff, the gamestores will blow your mind.

Ok, Ive only found neo games in akihabara, the common ones are cheap as hell (from 1 dollar to 10) then ive seen sam sho 4 for 250$, Ive seen garou for around 450$ and all the kofs are like 80-100 bucks, (kof2000 is always 300$) the MVS is stuff is cheap as hell, found a bargain bin and got a bunch of shit hella cheap. I suggest going if you have the time and money.

I noticed a couple of years ago that the games that were expensive here, were cheap there and vice-versa. Is that still true? Like the fighters in Japan were cheap but the platformers like Spinmasters were higher.

Back in 1999 I found Blazing star in an Akihabara gamestore for $450. Back then that wasn't a great price. Simply put, the stores do not have good deals... DKE is right - yahoo japan is the only way to go, if you speak Japanese that is. It's pretty tough to set up a yahoo japan account if you don't know Japanese, much less know what you're bidding on.

From what I heard games' prices are cheaper on common games and higher on rare (and cool) games... Dunno about the systems...
