Hey modders: Rumor about better S-video on systems below 33,000 true or not?

I figured it's best to ask those who mod systems, since they see many more systems in action than the average Neo gamer ever would. I have a system in the 21xxx range, and the S-video output is nearly perfect. I wonder if it's really any better than any other Neo though, since I don't have another modded system to compare it to (yet).

So how about it? Do modded systems with serial numbers that fall under 033000 have better S-video output on average than newer systems? Or is it a load of crap?

I would have to say Yes. My personal system has a serial # of 00017! I have modded 12 or so systems and mine still yields the best picture quality! Not that the other ones look bad, its just when you put them side by side, mine seems to be a little brighter, the colors are more vibrant, etc...

I would suggest buying the lowest serial # system you can find. I have seen them as low as 17 (mine) to as high as 220,XXX.

I have always heard that the first run of
Neo cart systems had the best RGB out, but the worst composite.

So it makes sense, I have seen 200K+ serial systems & wasn't impressed.

My system is around the 10k mark, & it has excellent s-video out.

Never knew that lower serial numbers make a difference in the picture ,

Mine is 011076 , and its already hella bright !
