I was just wondering if anyone here plays MD3 seriously? If so what's your highest level in self challenge on medium difficulty? Who is your favorite character?

As for myself I can get lv.l87 on self challenge. My favorite characters are Devil and Heirophant.

Hey, I used to play this religiously.. had a big blister on my thumb from the daily joypad mashing :D

Anyway my highest in Survival Mode is... well I forget what level :o but I did once get kind of far, with a high of 29 reactions & over a million points.

And Magical Drop, it's all about World and Empress. <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" /> <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" /> <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" /> (btw, it's me, Mr J)

I'm totally ignorant about magical drop, but the character names, and some of the character pictures I've seen are all names of and pictures of "persona" in the Persona game series by Atlus (also known as Devil Summoner, I think). Any relation?? It's got to be more than a coincidence....

Can't say as I've ever played Persona, but as far as the characters go in the Magical Drop games, they're based off of tarot cards. So if the designers of Persona based anything off of tarot cards, that may be why all the similarities are there.

Ah, I think that explains it! I didn't know about the tarot card thing. But in Persona, the demons were created by using cards. That must be the link. Thanks for clearing that up! BTW, Persona 2 is an awesome Japanese-style RPG for PSX, in case anyone is interested :) .

I always use strength or tower, they're devastating in the versus modes.

Are you saying that the character you have affects how the person plays? I haven't played this game but a couple of instances, but I thought the character you chose was just for the fun of it...?

Nope they definitely affect your playing the game. Like Bobak pointed out, Strength and Tower are quite devastating, meanwhile Fool and Devil tend to be a little more challenging to play as. Another couple of characters I like to use are Sun and Hermit, they do a good job at helping you kick some ass too. Oh, and Hanged Man, he's pretty slick too.

I heard about that, but I also heard that the character differences don't show up on the Neo Geo version the way that they do on the Saturn version?

what I meant by "self challenge mode" is the one where you play by yourself.

Th reason I play with devil mainly is because he doesn't have an especially strong pattern. This way I can still have fun with people that are far less skilled whil improving my own :)

I have alo heard that the US and japan carts are different. Is this true? I've heard the US version really sucks? How can this happen if the neo is the same everywhere?
