Just curious as I'd like to be able to meet and interact with other Neo collectors in this desolate part of the U.S.

Seems that the majority of Neo Geo gamers/collectors are based on the West Coast or overseas.

I only know of one other Neo collector that is based in NH aside from me.

I'm in Vermont. I know, not New Hampshire but kinda close ;) I think I'm the only one here representing the state of VT.

Well, that's more New England-area based Neo collectors than I originally figured!

Maybe we could get some kind of Neo-related gathering set up at an area arcade or something.

I'm all for it. Since it appears that many of you are spread out across New England, we would need to find a central "state" to meet in...maybe Massachusetts.

Any good arcades around there?

Well, let's plan it for real. I'm 100% serious. Let's plan a get-together some weekend. AM-NeoGeo, you want to put it together? I'm psyched about it :) . Does anyone have a good place to meet in Mass????

I'll put it together, providing we can find a decent meeting place in Mass! Anyone know of any good arcades or restaurants in the area? There's Funspot located in Weirs Beach, NH, but that's more of a classic gaming arcade/museum (we're talking early 80's stuff) and it's not exactly a central area as far as location is concerned.

I work 15 minutes away from Boston, but I rarely go there as the highway construction is a nightmare. Not really sure if there are any good arcades anywhere around my workplace, but I'll check around. I'm open to suggestions...

If I had a car (and license) I would meet up with you guys in a second. Sadly I don't (long story), and my new job has me up at all hours of the night.

Sometime in the near future I will try to set up a meet, bound to be a few of us around here.

Well, I am definitely interested in doing this. I need to know who else is definitely interested and able to do a New England Neo Geo gamer get together?

The two definites are:

* Myself
* Galford Forever

The one confirmed who can't:

* Average Joe

The better idea I have as to who can and is able to attend something we plan, the easier it will be to find a location and place to meet.

I was raised in Hudson, but I spent most of my teenage years in Nashua; I currently reside in Barnstead.

I need some prior notice, but should be free (provided it's not in October).

My schedule is pretty busy as well, so any meeting will have to be planned a few weeks in advance. I'm looking at about late October to November as a possible time to set something up.

I'm in Acton Mass.

The best arcade around here I know of (if it's still good, been a long time since I was there) was Gillians (Gillyans? Some spelling) in Boston. One floor is like a pool hall, one is a night club, the other is all video games. Last time I was there was when VF3 was only a few months old (yeah, it's been a LONG while). The only problem is that I think you have to be at least 18 to get in (definately not 21, I wasn't when I went there). If they have Neo games... I don't remember, but they had Dig Dug, and Asteroids, so I suppose it's possible.

I live in Seekonk,MA. It's closer to Providence,RI than it is to Boston. Although the train could be a possibility if it was in the Boston area. It sounds like fun to me because I don't know anybody that likes the Neo that lives close by.

I've been hearing a lot about Gillians on FNX when I commute to work each morning. SOunds like a type of Sega Gameworks type of place (bars/pool/arcades). I've never been there myself, but that is a possibility. Any other suggestions?

There's also a large arcade in Nashua, on the Daniel-Webster highway (or just off of it). I forget the name of it, but it's sort of shaped like a castle. The only problem is that it's mainly a kids party center, and a little expensive (like 2 bucks for one game of Daytona USA). Although when I was there, they had several floors of games. Heck, they even had that fighting game featured in Blood Sport!!!

There's a bowling alley in my town, owned by some family friends of mine. That's where I grew up playing Neo-Geo and Street Fighter. But they mostly have redemption games, and DDR games now.

Yep, Funcastle. First place I got to see a Neo Geo MVS when they first came out in 1991. I haven't been there in ages and don't know what they have for games, but I remember that they had one of the huge Galaxian 3 arcade games there! (took up a whole room with 6 cannons!)

Can you tell me more about Goodtimes?
It's too bad we don't have a Sega Gameworks or a Dave & Busters anywhere around...I visited the Gameworks when I was in Dallas and it was decent (though expensive).

Don't you mean FunWorld or did they change their name? Anyway..... I was at FunWorld for the unveiling of the MVS (well, okay -- I was sick the first week it was released <img src="graemlins/angry.gif" border="0" alt="[Angry]" /> ) .
Oh, such sweet memories!

Anyway... yes, it’s by the Royal Crest Plaza.

What about the Dream Machine in the Pheasant Lane Mall? Are they still in business?

Unfortunately, the Dream Machine is long gone. They replaced it with bathrooms. It had started to suck anyways, ever since they had remodelled it. They never should have gotten rid of the huge VF2 cabinet. They coulda put the Naomi system in it (they're both medium/high-res games, right?).

Yes, the Dream Machine in the Pheasant Lane is gone...as of last summer. I was there last week and the food court just seems so empty without it.

The only remaining Dream Machine I know that's still in existance is the one up in the Maine Mall in Portland, Maine.

If we can't find a decent arcade, we probably should meet at a restaurant or something and talk Neo. If the area has a small arcade, that will be a bonus.
