Hello,

I am switching from home console to arcade and want to know all of your opinions in which game motherboards (similar to the NEO) are worth purchasing? I already know that I am getting a 2-slot MVS, but what else?

The Arcade version of Narc is great. The problem is that it has been hard to find from what I hear. Hope you have better luck then me.

If you mean cart based boards, the sega st-v is cool if you like some 3d gaming (there are 2d games as well on it). Capcom CPS-2 is something i really want too. Just watch out for the capcom suicide that happens with the carts... Email me if you need more info about that.

If you like shooters, get mars matrix on the cps-2...you will not be disappointed.

And of course, the crystal system, it should be one worthy contender in the 2d arena :)

Viper Phase 1
Raiden Fighters
Raiden Fighters 2
Raiden Fighters Jet
Battle Garegga
Battle Bakraid
Strikers 1945 I and II
Dragon Blaze
Donpachi
Dodonpachi
DoDonpachi II Bee Storm
Batsugun
Shienryu (STV)
Twin Cobra II (Taito F3)
Carrier Airwing
UN Squadron
Magic Sword

For Mars Matrix, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2, and Zero Gunner 2, just use your Dreamcast. Maybe not quite as good but still very nice.

Obviously the above are mostly shooters, vertical as well, but those are my preference. If I were you I'd avoid CPS2 and other suicide-battery based boards, but others here seem to have no problem swapping the batteries out. To me its not worth the constant worry and aggravation.

GA, that is very nice. Does the Naomi output VGA? How do you wire one if those up?

Yes & its easy to do, flick of a dip switch, it has the d sub connector on the mobo, you still use it in 15k to, its just routed to a jamma convertor such as the sega v1, 2 or Capcom i/o.

Similar or not to neo, the (very limited ) cart crystal system with the only games being crystal of kings and evolution soccer (which im still looking out for)
its a great unique game with luscious graphics & smooth gameplay

personal opinion :)

MVS, CPS-2 and possibly F3, ST-V and AW. None of the other ones have enough software support to worry about. Naomi isn't an all-in-one unit either, so I don't include it.

CPS2 and CPS3.

To avoid them because of the suicide battery issue would be stupid. Even if you can't replace the batteries yourself, there are people here that will do it for you. And CPS2 games can be "phoenixed" to work without the battery.

It can never hurt to pick up a couple of random JAMMA boards to play with.

IMO, Final Fight is a must-have. I also recommend Bloxeed if you like puzzles. Of course these are single game boards but they should both be pretty cheap (I paid under $40 each for them).

IMO...PGM, CPS-2, and Naomi are what you need as far as mobo's. I also say get killer instinct 1 and the simpsons!
