a US AES motherboard with a broken system shell? Unit works just fine though.

(This was one of the systems that was going to Josh, but it was broken when I got it; the seller conviently "forgot" to mention this to me)

I feel this unit was sent to me with a great purpose; a destiny, if I may call it........

I want to build this into something else; maybe a coffee table that hook-ups to your TV! I know this sounds gay, but I want to do something weird/creative with it. I plan on Mega modding it with S-Video, Debug Bios, etc.., etc...

If anyone has ANY ideas, drop me a PM/email. That would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kpj

Last year I saw a website with some PC guys trying to out do each other building these all in one game computers.

Their computers had an Xbox,PS2,NES,Genesis,Atari 2600, and more....I forget what else. All of that and not to mention it worked as a PC too.

This was all build in to 1 regular looking PC tower. Just the other day I was thinking about that and I thought if it had a Neo Geo in it I would buy it.

I saw that computer and others like it on www.atariage.com in their front page. I asked their Mods if they can find the link and send it to me but I have not heard back.

If anyone knows about this all in one computer please post a link to it.

Kenny you can also just hold on to it for a while, I have seen a few auctions of Ebay where there were some Dead Neo's up for auction. And I did see just a bare console with a BIN for $25.00 once. I was going to buy it but at that time I already had a home system.

Kenny my man, few in this community would think of doing something like that. You are nothing if not innovative my friend. :D I must admit, building a custom enclosure for an AES board would certainly be cool and definitely something unique. The coffee table idea would be different for sure, but not terribly portable I wouldn't think. Is this something that you'd be keeping as a "showpiece" or something that you'd eventually sell-off? If you were planning to keep it around, I would definitely say build something fancy around the board like your coffee table idea. A console that matches your decor would certainly make for some interesting conversation. :D If it's something you'd rather be able to move around or take elsewhere, you might just want to think about building a fancy new shell for it. I always liked the sort of "simple but elegant" look of the AES unit, but maybe you could come up with somethign flashier for it. There's an interesting site about guys who have built very specialised and unique computer enclosures designed to fit around the new Mini-ITX ultra-tiny form factor motherboards that recently came out from VIA:

www.mini-itz.com

Your AES enclosure obviously wouldn't be as small as these, but you could probably find a way to make a special design like that that would accomodate botht he board and the cart slot. I dunno, might be kind of neat to try. :) Good luck with it and make sure to post some pics when you're done!
