Its terrible. the control, gameplay and story are awful. Id suggest spending the money elsewhere, but there a lot of other people who are satisfied with it. I think the Neogeo pocket games are a million times better.

Indeed, R2's replay value seems endless. No developer will ever spend enough time on a cash cow GBA game to ever surpass a NGPC fighter, and R2 is probably the best.

Samurai Shodown 2 is also a great fighter for the NGP. If there's anything close to a decent fighter for the GBA, it's possibly the Street Fighter 2 port they made. Whatever you do though, DO NOT BUY Mortal Kombat Advanced, I hear it is horrible.

What I totally hate about this games is that the strong hits are on L&R and can't be changed, so it's really unplayable. Why they didn't use the NGPC style (also seen in SF 2 for GBA) or at least an option to map the buttons?

I know this is getting a little off-topic, but R-2 is indeed superb. SNK vs. Capcom is just as or almost as good; it uses the same engine.

I heard its pretty much KOF 99 for GBA with a couple new shitty characters (the girl).

I also heard is just about unplayable as far as combos go, cause of the GBA's bad layout.
