OK,

I must Admit I am impressed with the artwork and the way these are layed out. I managed to get the run of Chinese KOF 97 comics with KOF 96,98 and some special issues on the way.

I can really only comment on what I have now which is the KOF 97 comics and was hoping there may be some others out there that have the other series (mark of the wolves, Samurai Shodown, the other KOF Comics)

For those that have not seen them here is a small snapshot of a few of the issues.

kof97comic.jpg

These are in full color, every issue comes with a poster, some include stickers. One even includes a VCD of the TGs 98 (has some cool previews of the games including the Neo Geo titles). The covers very, some are 3d, some have holographics, etc. along with the comic there is a fan art page, a game review page which some issues have stradegies on the use of characters in the various snk games as well as Hidden moves. Ads for up and coming SNK releases etc.

They also seem to very in price from $13Hk to $23hk (special issues are up to $52hk where $7.6hk ~ $1US)

I have always loved fan art and like looking at the pictures, even though I can not read them :)

Does anyone have any of the other runs. The KOF 97 has 52 issues not sure on the number of specials although I have 4 of them on the way.

Just thought I would share and bring up some alternative discussion.

Any chance of getting the new series in at the Neo store ;) Or anyone know of places to buy them in the US without shipping from overseas. The ones i got went for about .50 a issue however shipping it over was $83 (express) $61 (ground) so 3x what I paid to get them here. I have checked out the China Town Fair here but alas aside from the occasional SNK Character resins I managed to Find no other SNK releated items.

I have the Kof Zillion COmpiliation 1. It is in B/W though. I wonder if the Zillion comics are in color and include extras like the KOF 97 do? The Ande Seto art book is cool as well, I ended up with a large version (11x14) and a small book of it. The Small book feel apart on me after Trey was Fliping through it ;)

The Zillions are done by NeoSun, the KOF 97 are done by Computer Plaza Co. (F.E.) LTD. I do not think Andy Did the art in These but You never Know. I would say The zillion artwork is better but I wonder if Neo Sun laid out thier comics the same way. I have not seen a Zillion Comic yet but Hopefully will get One soon. I will probably get the Person I deal with In HK to add some of the new release he can find in as well since I am shipping them all over. might as well ad a few extra's in :) Should get them next week sometime and I will report what they look like unless someone beats me to it.

Your in Houston, Cool. If you get a chance you should check out the HK mall off of Belaire. there is a toy store in there that sells some SNK resins. He does not speak english very well though so might want to bring a chinese speaking friend along if you have on. Also grap a tapoica drink in the food court. I love those things ;)

Nice stuff. I was hoping to hit the HK comic fair this past summer and check around for stuff like that since I was there at the time but something came up and I missed it.

I don't actually have any of the HK KOF comics because they are pretty hard to find back home despite the number of Chinese around. Do you know where your supplier shops? ;) I'm heading back to Hong Kong in about a month and want to put more effort into searching out these sorts of things this time.

Anyway thanks for sharing. I had no idea that the '97 series was so long.

Actually I think they are from his personal Collection or he owns a shop. He also sometimes says he have some friend that has (Somthing) and wants to know if I am interested in it. I will ask though.

I am told that KOF 96 has 36 vol and kof 98 is 44 Vol. Not sure on any others.

I figured you would like them ;) Just passing on info like you do with the Soundtracks and Videos.

ComicsOne was supposed to have published the KOF 2000 HK comic in America this past September, but alas, those plans were put out to pasture (in other words, the title was cancelled). Andy Seto fans need not fear, since two of his works (Saint Legend and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) are currently being published by ComicsOne.

Don't forget about the KOF Japanese manga anthologies; those are loaded with nice art and hilarious/serious stories. FYI, the King Of Fighters 2001 manga anthology was published last March by Bros. Comics, so do make a note of checking it out, if only to see the cover drawn by Hiroaki.
