Yeah

I know it rocks, but I'm still concerned as to how much longevity I'm going to get out of it.. it looks beautiful, plays great, and I want something for my "non-neo" friends to play..

is last blade 2 better/worse?

and, on a tangent, should I plump for RBFF instead?

thanks..

LB2 has a lot more playability. the counter/parry command is a lot better on the second one. more characters in the second one also. there are better spacial moves and the characters are a little more refined.

i like the stages and feel, not fighting feel, of the first one, but second is over all better in respects to length of playability and depth.

There is a certain thing about games made in 1997 that had sequels in 1998 - Samurai Tamashi Asura Zanmaden, Last Blade and Last Blade 2 - in that the sequels do not really surpass the first game as mcuh they do compliment it.

Last Blade 1 is excellent, and in many ways it is superior to Last Blade 2. Yuki's stage is a clear example of where the makers of Last Blade 2 didn't work as hard as they did in last blade 1. Moreover, many of the moves people had in Last Blade 1 are different than the versions in LB2 - Zantetsu and Yuki are good examples how much the gameplay changes after just one game. Other characters like Moriya transistioned nearly unchanged. Then you have Shikyoh, who really changed for the better in last blade 2, unless you were fighting against him.

EvilWasabi's right. They're both great games... LB1 is the better-balanced of the two, but LB2 is the deeper game. 1 has an airtight sense of polish to it, while 2 has a more refined Speed mode, some more gameplay options and new characters. Both control beautifully, and are easily two of the absolute best games to be had on the Neo.

Buy both or we shoot j00. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> ;) <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

*warning: Strong Statement*

It's always been my belief that SNK makes some of the best games around, and among that list of great titles, the Last Blade series is one of the few that transcend not only it's peers but it's genre. I think Last Blade is not only one of the best Neo games, but one of the best fighting games ever made. It's level of art/game play are top notch. It's a Neo marvel and there is no excuse to not owning/having played it.

Just looked at some of the reviews on this site again, and I'm wondering-

Do the Last Blades have blood in them?

Yes they have blood in them and the effects for them look really cool, more like sprays other than your standard glob.

Last Blade 2 is THE GREATEST fighting game ever made.Period. Nothing comes close to it at all. My $.02 anyways.

I really like the play in Last Blade 1. I'm not the type of person to play hours and hours of fighting games. I play maybe 1/2 everyday and Last Blade, IMO, was easy to pick up and play with just about any character. Character and environment design is nice too.

I've only played Last Blade 2 for DC, and it's not a fair comparison because of the different formats, so I won't comment.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy fighting games and own quite a few of them, I just don't have the time.

Last Blade 1&2 are absolutely terrific games Imo Fall shortly behind MotW , Wich is the best 2-d fighter made for the system. But I am a Shodown man , and I was hooked on neo by Samurai Shodown. The blades clashing and smooth playability made it my all time favorite. Last Blade came a little late for me but definetely did not go unrecognized.

LB1 & 2 are my some of my fav fighters on the system. They're beautiful games and very easy to pick up and play. I couldn't say which one I like better... they're both so good. I have a review up on my site of LB1, if you want to check that out. The URL is in my sig.

I played both games recently and the art work looks great on both. the intro and endings are cool and gameplay is good on both. in my opinion i like last blade 2 best by a faction as it has morea atmosphere but you cant really tell the difference between both games. if i had a choice though i would chose the sequal because as gameplay is virtually the same on both games the sequal has better eye candy but then the first game has two bosses. both good but still not as good as shodown 2.

135 pounds = $192.00.

I'm selling mine for $165, and with shipping to you it might cost $180. Want to save a few pounds?

got a photo?

I did notice it in the for sale section actually, and I would take it in a snap, but I wont have my paypal sorted for a couple of days..

so that, and my overall decision on the game, is whats holding me up...

thanks for the offer, I'll PM you if/when I sort it out.

I have last blade 2 on
dreamcsat, and was wondering,
if anyone has played the
home cart and the dreamcast
version, which looks better? <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" />

Last Blade and Last Blade II are amazing games and a must-have-game for a real Neo-Fan, but if i had to choose between them both and Samurai Showdown IV, i´ll go with SS IV. :)
