Fatal Fury 3 isn't that bad

I've seen people complaining about FF3 is a crappy game and makeing commends like:

"No wonder it's popular for sac cart..."
"control sux..."
"some backgrounds are too plain......"
"...bla bla bla...."

Well, if you compare this game to other crappy AES games out there, FF3 isn't that bad.

Plus a lot of people in here never play FF3, they might just read reviews or hearsay from others then make stupid commends like that...

How many of you actually play this game?
Not a lot...
Don't tell me you have played emul or Saturn version because they don't count.

Play AES version a bit more and then make a accurate commend.

I sold my copy long ago but aquired one recently.
As more I play, more fun I have...

they're LOSERS and have no neo CLASS

ff3 is definitely one of my fave neo games,
i remember spending whole DAYS playing it

the INSANE bgs,
the art,
all the little details
the story

that beautiful intro

and southtown at its finest

the music is really dam cool.

The aesthetics are TOP NOTCH in Fatal Fury 3 but the game control is GAR-BIGE -A +I
You can break your hand trying to pull off all the moves..I'm not a wuss and prefer hard games but FF3?? Damn! When I attempt to pull off a move I want to do it with confidence,not hope that it works...
Give me Fatal Fury 3 aesthetics/storyline with Real Bout control and you have an almost PERFECT
game!!

Yeah....FF3 had one of the best intros, and built up story lines....plus loads of new characters in the fatal fury world....but if only it could have been more like fatal fury special!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. I recently picked up the game in a trade just because I'm working on getting all the Garou games. I was suprised how fun it was and now it's one of my favorite Neo games. My only complaint is that it's a little too hard. Another than that it's an awesome game.
Anyone who likes fighters should give it a chance.

It's not bad, but the two best things about the game are the intro (best intro ever), and Terry gets the power dunk. Oh, and Yamazaki. That's about it. Not a terrible game, but not the best. FFS is much better.

How can you condemn somebody for not liking a game? We all can't share the same taste in games...
Also if it was'nt intended to be a vs game why does it have the vs mode options?
I realize that the game focuses more on circling your opponent BUT pulling off the moves consistently frustrates the hell out of me! I use B.Mary....and I try to give every game a good chance because SNK makes games that you have to step away from and grasp the concept in order to fully enjoy.I did that with Fatal Fury 3 and when you have the option of playing FFSPECIAL,RB or RB2..FF3 gets the back seat. RBSPECIAL frustrates me the other way because that one is too easy although it makes one hell of a fun vs mode game.

FRAN,stop being "childish"..we can agree to disagree without condeming one another... :-D

I still remember the day my FF3 cart came in the mail. One of the greatest days of my life as a video game player.

Fran nailed it perfectly. I can add nothing to his initial reasons why FF3 owns.

But I wouldn't call others weak for not liking it. Just...sad and deranged

Seriously, I agreed with you on a previous post on the Super Spy, because I've always loved that game while most people hate it. But I notice the same for FF3 as I am in the majority who dislike the game. I will agree that the intro is fantastic, but I don't like the gameplay much, I'm afraid.

True, there are other games which I think are worse on the AES, and I don't mean older games as that isn't a fair comparison. But my tastes have always leaned towards KOF for fighting games (any incarnation). I've also never been much of a Samurai Shodown fan, so that also puts me in the minority. But I do own SS2, because I can appreciate good game design. I also don't play RPGs, but I do see the attraction to them. I don't trash things simply because I don't like them, but it takes more than an intro to make a quality game in the face of so much competition.

For the record, I'm aware that it was me who said "no wonder it's a popular sac cart". While it was never my intention when I bought it, I did play it for almost two hours, but I came to the conclusion that the gameplay was inferior to most other SNK fighters. Being that the case and knowing it's value as a conversion cart, it was no surprise to me that few would shed a tear for the loss of the game.

Everyone's tastes are particular, no reason to condemn them for it.

It's indeed that each of us has different taste.

I like:

Real Bout Special (cool backgrounds & aweseom easy-to-do special moves)
Fatal Fury Special (so many characters to choose from)
Real Bout (you can knock opponents into water or out-of-ring, so funny)
Mark of the Wolves (control is nice)
Real Bout 2 (I don't like it that much)
Fatal Fury 3 (cool intro, nice backgrounds)
Fatal Fury 2 (I prefer FFS. Remember some of AES have sound problem when playing this game?)
Fatal Fury (Control is kinda...... Plus you can choose 3 characters and that's it...

)

I agree Fran. FF3 is a kick-ass game, but gets destroyed because everyone says "There are tons of them out there for $20.00 each new!" Every time I corner them though, they can never point me to where they are at that price.

Not a bad game

I think the intro is great but it sounds so much better on the neo cd version as the voice is above the music very loud and very clear but on the mvs version its rather quiet and blends into the intro music.

its the only neo game i prefer on the neo cd.

I like Fatal Fury Special better because of the amount of characters and it has a more classic feel to it.

Fatal Fury 3 does have a better intro though.

I'd like to know of these people who tell you this price. I've never seen it for less than $70 at any time, regardless of condition. Even SamSho2 doesn't even sell for that and there are more copies of those than Marioworld for SNES.

If FF3 really ever did sell for such a price, the conversions would be twice as rampant and the game twice as rare.
