Remember when you first signed up for that e-mail, and if you are like me, checked the option to not receive any marketing spam from them? Well, it seems Yahoo! reset all of the options for receiving spam to "Yes" for everyone. I have checked with other people using Yahoo! accounts, and it looks like it has been reset with all of the people I have checked with.

So, to set it back to "No" go to Yahoo!, log in to "Groups," then click on "My Groups" in the upper right hand corner. Then click on "Account Info" in the upper right hand corner, where you will again be prompted for your password. Enter it, then when the screen comes up click "Edit Your Marketing Preferences" and select "No" for all those options, unless you enjoy receiving annoying advertising crap. Do not forget to click "Save Changes" at the bottom.

This is useful information! I just noticed all the crap mail in my regular inbox and I was wondering WTF it was and why I kept getting it recently.

Thanks a lot. I noticed though with my Yahoo Canada account, that there was no such thing as Marketing Preferences anyway, only with the US one.

Well, what do you expect? Yahoo is free. Personally, I pay for my email address (Not Yahoo, BTW :p ).

Thank you VERY much, Bio! Notice how Yahoo conveniently forgets to mention this feature when you first sign up with them.
