To begin with I have 25 AES games and the below issue is only on this title, so I am sure my hardware is OK.

I just got a copy of Fatal Fury and I noticed that when you jump on Duck King's level that there is some random horizontal flicker (usually 2 or 3 long thin lines of it).

I cleaned the cart (well I might add) before using it and let it dray a while. I then cleaned it AGAIn and make sure it was pushed in properly... same problem.

The rest of the game seems fine, just that one thing, but I do not reacll seeing it on a friends copy of FF.

The question: is this normal or not?

No. But you can still try to don't plug entirely the cart into the slots. Say, about 90% of the cart inserted.

I had an issue with MS3 at the beginnig. I did that and the game played everytime fine afterwards. It's more related to the cart slots than the console slots. Not realy a problem of dirt/dust. your Fatal Fury cart may be very used and shows those signs.

Otherwise, I only can imagine that you might have a video rom fucked up inside your cart. Thank god that game is dirt cheap! :D

My cart has the same problem. But the game is so bad I don't play it anyway. :)

So true!

I ask b/c I JUST got it and the seller will hook me up, I just wanted to be sure it was bad.

Sounds like it is; does everyone else agree with that statement?

It is possible that it's your system. I have had a few cart systems, and older games seem to always give the most trouble. Usually cleaning will clear things up, but sometimes it doesn't help. Take my Sengoku for instance, it has slight graphic errors on one system, but works flawlessly on another. I think it just has to do with the slots on your system.

The game may have worked fine for the seller.

Good point. I will try it on the other AES.

It IS like 12 years old, so the game might just be showing its age.
